Impact Werner was held out of Chelsea's season opener versus Everton on Saturday with this move pending. Given Chelsea's wealth of attacking options, Werner was far from a lock for the starting XI on a weekly basis. With his return to Leipzig, Werner should once again be the focal point of the attack and will look to push for the 25-goal threshold, a mark he reached back in 2019-20 in 34 Bundesliga appearances.

Impact Werner completes a rumored move back to RB Leipzig, where he became one of the most touted forwards in Europe after not doing much in his pro career before 2016. This secures Kai Havertz, Raheem Sterling and Mason Mount as the top three forwards for the Blues as Werner departs with what feels like as many offsides calls as attempts on target. Impact Werner stayed on the bench over the weekend and now it's been confirmed that it's a hamstring injury. This likely ends the season for Werner, who found a bit of form in recent weeks. His numbers are still mostly underwhelming, compiling just four goals, one assist, 45 shots and eight chances created in 21 league appearances (15 starts). Of note, he actually surpassed those numbers with four goals and two assists in five UCL appearances.
