Continues recovery on pitch Coleman trained individually this week and continues his recovery from knee surgery underwent in May.
Impact Coleman likely has another month on the sideline, as he's been training in limited sessions for about the past month. Once in full training, he made need multiple weeks to get back his fitness to be able to play in the Premier League. At a minimum, he'll still likely be out until October if not more.

Set to miss 6-8 weeks Colman (knee) is set to miss the next 6-8 weeks, ruling him out for the month of September. "It was a significant injury but I am recovering well, hitting all the targets so far, b...
Impact Colman's injury turned out worse than expected, ruling him out for the next few weeks with the knee injury. He has already missed three months of action and is set to miss another one while he continues to recover. This also rules him out of the upcoming Euro qualifiers with Ireland in September. Nathan Patterson will likely remain at right back and could keep that starting spot, depending on his fitness once he returns to action.
AUGUST 24, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Sill out Coleman (knee) will not be an option for Sunday's match against Aston Villa.
Impact Coleman is still not fit to return to the pitch and will remain on the sidelines with a knee injury. Nathan Patterson has emerged as the new favorite for the right back position, dropping the defender in the depth chart for the time being.
AUGUST 18, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Officially ruled out Saturday Coleman (knee), as expected, won't be in the squad to face Fulham on Saturday.
Impact Coleman is on track in his recovery but has yet to rejoin first-team training, primarily getting work off the pitch. At this point, the veteran right-back should still be considered out indefinitely, with Nathan Patterson filling in for the Irishman. Even once back to full fitness, Coleman could still find himself serving as a substitute behind the youngster.

Recovery going as planned Coleman (knee) is recovering individually and hasn't suffered any setbacks, Coleman told reporters."I am just working away in the gym, rehab, and getting it strong again, but every...
Impact Coleman continues to recover from a long-term knee injury, and hasn't suffered any setbacks. The wing-back was originally feared to have torn his ACL but tests revealed the injury was less serious than originally feared. A return for the Premier League opener, an Aug. 12 clash with Fulham, is unlikely for the veteran.
AUGUST 2, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Signs new one-year deal Coleman (knee) agreed to terms on a new one-year contract with Everton on Thursday.
Impact Coleman sustained a significant knee injury at the end of the 2022-23 campaign, which led to some speculation that he might opt to end his playing career. Instead, the Toffees' captain will be back for another year with the club. The right-back is expected to be ready for the upcoming season, though he will face a challenge for the starting job from youngster Nathan Patterson (hamstring).
JUNE 29, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Offered new contract Coleman (knee) has been given a contract offer by Everton, the club announced Friday.
Impact Coleman suffered a long-term knee injury that required surgery in mid-May. Still, the left-back is expected to be ready for the 2023-24 campaign where he figures to compete with Nathan Patterson for the starting job, assuming he signs his contract offer. Considering Coleman has been with the club since signing from Sligo Rovers back in January 2019, the Irishman and Toffees' captain can probably play for the club as long as he would like at this point.

Undergoes knee procedure Coleman had surgery on his knee and is officially shut down for the rest of the 2022-23 campaign. Manager Sean Dyche told reporters, "Seamus did have an operation and it has gone w...
Impact Coleman will be out of contract with the club this summer but it seems the door remains open for the longest-tenured Everton player to remain with the club heading into the 2022-23 campaign. Under previous manager Frank Lampard, the veteran Coleman was the reserve choice behind youngster Nathan Patterson. Injuries to both right-backs kept the competition going all season long with Coleman seeming the preference under Dyche.
MAY 12, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Unlikely to return this season Coleman has "ligament" damage in his knee and is "unlikely" to return this season, according to manager Sean Dyche.
Impact This isn't too surprising for Coleman, who likely suffered some kind of knee sprain even if it didn't damage his ACL. He's on the last year of his latest contract with Everton, so a decision will have to be made on his future. He's good to have around as a veteran, but coming off another knee injury and on the verge of turning 35, his time at the club may be over with Nathan Patterson waiting to takeover. Even though Patterson opened the season as the starter, he eventually got hurt and Dyche has preferred Coleman at right-back of late resulting in another 20-start campaign for Coleman.
MAY 4, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
ACL still intact Coleman has no ACL damage and hopes to "be back soon" after leaving on a stretcher in Monday's match.
Impact It's at least one bit of good news for Coleman, who went down from an awkward challenge Monday. Still, it seems like he'll have a knee sprain at minimum, which could lead to the end of the season for him. If that's the case, it's likely Nathan Patterson and Ben Godfrey will compete for minutes at right-back, depending on the health of the latter.
MAY 3, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Stretchered off Monday Coleman was taken off the pitch on a stretcher against Leicester City on Monday.
Impact Coleman's right leg was placed in an air cast which certainly wasn't a good sign for the veteran right-back. The Irishman had just returned to the squad following a three-match absence with a hamstring problem and may be facing the end of his 2022-23 campaign depending on the severity of the injury. With Coleman coming off, Nathan Patterson took his spot on the pitch and could feature for the Toffees moving forward.
MAY 1, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Back in starting XI Coleman (hamstring) will be in the starting XI against Leicester City on Monday.
Impact Coleman returns to the pitch after missing the Toffees' last three matches due to his hamstring problem. In his last five outings, the veteran right-back recorded two shots (one on target), five crosses (two accurate) and 11 clearances. While Coleman is unlikely to generate a ton of offensive production, he should rack up plenty of defensive stats and could add some crosses as well.
MAY 1, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Targetting Monday return Coleman (hamstring) is hoping to be back on the pitch against Leicester City on Monday.
Impact Coleman would be a much-needed boost to the Everton back line after Ben Godfrey was clearly out of his element filling in at right-back versus Newcastle United on Thursday. For his part, Coleman has recorded five crosses (two accurate), 11 clearances and 10 tackles (seven won) in his last five appearances. If given the green light to play, Coleman figures to be a near-lock for the starting XI.
APRIL 28, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Not included in squad Coleman (hamstring) was left off the match-day squad against Newcastle United on Thursday.
Impact Coleman was expected to be a late test ahead of this clash with Newcastle, so it could be an indication he'll be ready in time to face Leicester City on Monday. In his last five contests, the right-back notched two shots (one on target), five crosses (two accurate) and 10 tackles (seven won). Once cleared to play, Coleman should reclaim his spot in the starting XI from Ben Godfrey.
APRIL 27, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Late test Thursday Coleman (hamstring) is back on the grass and considered a late test for Thursday's match against Newcastle, according to manager Sean Dyche.
Impact Coleman has been out since the April 8 contest and is unlikely to start Thursday, given the nature of the injury and his age. There's no reason to push him back in the squad too soon from a muscle injury, so it's expected Dyche will go with Ben Godfrey or Nathan Patterson at right-back even if he would prefer to have Coleman there.
APRIL 26, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Out another match Coleman (hamstring) will remain out for Saturday's trip to Crystal Palace, according to manager Sean Dyche.
Impact There's a chance Coleman will miss the next few weeks with this injury, but Dyche will never reveal that information, so it's a game-by-game basis. Ben Godfrey and Vitaliy Mykolenko started at full-back the loss against Fulham, though Nathan Patterson is itching to get back into the fold.
APRIL 20, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Out with hamstring injury Coleman will "need a bit of time" with a hamstring injury suffered last weekend, according to manager Sean Dyche.
Impact This injury opens up time for Nathan Patterson to return to the XI, as he's been back from injury for almost a month. Dyche had simply preferred Coleman at right-back, as he'd started every game since Patterson's initial injury back in January. Coleman seems likely to miss a minimum of one week and if it's a hamstring pull, that could be extended to closer to a month. Of note, Ben Godfrey could move to right-back, as well, meaning Vitaliy Mykolenko would then start at left-back.

Comes off injured vs. Man United Coleman was subbed out of Saturday's match against Manchester United in the 87th minute after suffering an injury, with Everton manager Sean Dyche saying after the game that "We ha...
Impact Coleman was having a solid game on both sides of the ball, making two clearances and winning two of two tackles from right-back while also taking a shot on target and creating a chance in the 2-0 defeat against United, but he will have to be assessed before next weekend's clash against Fulham, with Nathan Patterson able to fill in at the position if necessary.
APRIL 9, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Fine after injury scare Coleman started and played the full 90 for Ireland in Monday's match against France.
Impact Coleman was thought to pick up a thigh injury in Ireland's first match of the international break, but he got the start Monday and even went 90 against Kylian Mbappe and company. He's started the last 10 league matches for Everton, though the return of Nathan Patterson could change those regular minutes.
