Impact Blackmon returned to the starting XI Saturday after being relegated to a bench role for the previous match, as Vancouver fell 1-3 to Los Angeles. His seven clearances were a team-high for the match and tied his season-high in a single match. Blackmon made a career-best 132 clearances over 32 appearances (30 starts) for Vancouver in 2023.

Ryan Gauld - Continues run of good form Gauld assisted once to go with one shot (one on goal), 15 crosses (five accurate) and nine corners in Saturday's 3-1 defeat versus Los Angeles Galaxy.

Impact Gauld provided the assist for the lone Vancouver goal Saturday as they fell 1-3 to Los Angeles. The assist marked the third successive match in which Gauld has had a goal involvement (two goals, one assist). Gauld has been a mainstay in the Vancouver lineup since joining the club in 2021, and 2024 is shaping up to be no different. He has been selected to start each match to begin the 20204 campaign.

Impact Takaoka was able to save just two of the five shots on target he faced as Whitecaps fell to Galaxy by a score of 1-3. Takaoka and Whitecaps were coming off a clean sheet performance in their previous match, but the three goals allowed marked a new season worst. Takaoka's next test will come Saturday as Whitecaps travel to take-on perennial contender Seattle Sounders.

Impact Puig provided a key assist as Galaxy defeated Whitecaps on Saturday by a margin of 3-1. The assist was Puig's second of the young campaign. Puig looks to be pulling the strings in the Galaxy midfield for a second successive season. Over his eight starting appearances he's also scored twice. The goal was his first since beginning the season with a goal in five successive matches. Joveljic scored six goals over 32 appearances (19 starts) in all of 2023. It has taken him just eight appearances (seven starts) to hit the six-goal mark in 2024. While he remains in form, Joveljic should receive every opportunity to lead the Galaxy front line.

Impact Fagundez scored his first goal of their 2024 season as Los Angeles defeated Vancouver 3-1. Fagundez started each of Los Angeles's first four matches but has seemingly been dropped to the bench, having now come on as a substitute in four successive matches. He'll need subsequent key performances to earn his way back into the starting XI.

Paintsil has had a fast start to life with Los Angeles after making the move to MLS from Genk. He's attempted at least one shot in all but one of his appearances and has quickly become a focal point of the attack. Over his eight starting appearances, Paintsil has scored three times and provided three assists.
