Teammate Yuto Nagatomo welcomed his arrival warmly, praising the rarity of his international experience and highlighting his familiarity with the conditions in the United States as a significant asset for Japan, with Yoshida currently playing for LA Galaxy giving him an intimate knowledge of the local climate, time zones and training environments that the rest of the squad will benefit from. Yoshida could replace Wataru Endo (undisclosed) if the midfielder can't be fit for the opener.

Impact Reus led LA in chances created as usual, but it wasn't enough to earn the win at home. The forward took four of their eight corner kicks in in the match. That was his 12th start in 15 overall appearances.

Impact Yamane created Joseph Paintsil's opener in the 28th minute with his first assist in the season. The right-back also had a good defensive outing, leading LA in both tackles (four) and duels won (seven). That was his ninth start in 13 overall appearances.

John Nelson will see less playing time if Aude returns to the main lineup at some point.

Carlos Garces - Set to miss Houston clash Garces (toe) has been ruled out by coach Greg Vanney for the weekend's match against Houston Dynamo, Alex Ruiz of The Galactic Tribune reports.

Impact Garces will have to wait until MLS activity resumes in July to be involved again, although the lengthy break might give him enough time to work on his recovery. The defender ended the initial stretch of the season with one assist along with 31 clearances, 23 tackles and 13 interceptions across 10 appearances (eight starts). Both Jakob Glesnes and Justin Haak are expected to stay put at center-back until the Colombian regains full health.

Matheus Nascimento - Closes out scoring in second half Nascimento scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) in Saturday's 2-0 win over Seattle Sounders FC.

Impact Nascimento closed out the scoring for the Galaxy in the final moments of the game, as he took advantage of a great play from Gabriel Pec to slot the ball home into the empty net. This was Nascimento's first goal of the season, but since he's been limited to bench minutes thus far, his fantasy upside will remain fairly low until he can secure a regular starting XI role.

JT Marcinkowski - Secures clean sheet in win Marcinkowski made five saves and secured a clean sheet in Saturday's 2-0 win versus Seattle Sounders FC. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 90th minute.

Impact Marcinkowski hasn't been at his best this season, but this was a huge step in the right direction -- and it was also his first clean sheet of the 2026 MLS campaign. Marcinkowski has started each of the Galaxy's last 10 games, making 35 saves and conceding 14 goals in that span.

John Nelson - Records six clearances Nelson registered two tackles (two won) and six clearances in Saturday's 2-0 win versus Seattle Sounders FC.

Impact Nelson played a big role as the Galaxy secured a clean sheet against Seattle. The left-back, who signed a contract extension to stay in LA until the end of the 2027/28 MLS campaign, is averaging 3.8 clearances and 2.0 tackles per game in his last five starts.
