Torn ACL confirmed Chicharito will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL he suffered in his right knee in the U.S. Open Cup this week, the Galaxy announced Friday.

Impact This is a huge blow for the Galaxy who are already the current Wooden spoon leaders at the bottom of the MLS table, but also for Chicharito himself who had scored 17 and 18 goals in 2021 and 2022 but also just turned 35 years old and might not have much time left at the top level, especially after a devastating injury like this. The striker had already missed the first month of this campaign with a hamstring issue, and his season now ends with one goal and one assist in nine league appearances (seven starts). Dejan Joveljic should take over as LA's focal point in attack now, with Preston Judd and maybe also Tyler Boyd or Riqui Puig able to fill in at the position.
