Lands with Portland Bye signed with Portland on a deal through June 2028, the club announced.

Impact Bye was in negotiations with New England, but evidently the two sides couldn't come to an agreement. The defender is now headed out west to join up with Portland. He should be an immediate contender for starting minutes in Portland, and if nothing else he's an excellent veteran defender.

Impact Bye took three shots and attempted five crosses as his side drew away to Austin. He wasn't able to get any of his shots on target and failed to be accurate with any of his crosses. So far this season he hasn't had a goal or assist in his 725 minutes played.

This is great news for the defender, as he has only played in seven matches this season due to two separate tenures on the injury list. Impact Bye's season was hindered by a torn ACL that left the player out for the majority of the second half of the season, putting the brakes on what looked to be a career season for the defender. He was on pace to destroy his season-highs for clearances and interceptions while not being too far off to do the same with tackles. His goal contribution count did take a hit due to the injury, only contributing two goals and an assist compared to two goals and seven assists last campaign. The right-back should move back into a starting spot once healthy, however, that might be a while as he is not scheduled to be healthy until May, three months after the season is underway.
