Amadou Onana - Earns a minute from bench Onana played one minute off the bench in Sunday's 2-1 win over Burnley.
Impact Onana was back in the team sheet Sunday after six games out with an injury, finally getting to see the field ahead of the international break. He would appear for a short cameo, coming on with a minute left to test his legs. He did start in their two games to open the season and will hope to return to that role now that he is fit.

Jadon Sancho - Remains sidelines Sancho (illness) is out for Sunday's match against Burnley.
Impact Sancho is missing out once again Sunday, with the attacker appearing to still be out due to his illness. That said, the attacker is still looking to earn a bigger role with his club and his first start once fit, only appearing off the bench twice all season for a total of 40 minutes of play this campaign.
OCTOBER 5 • ROTOWIRE
Emiliano Martinez - Starting against Burnley Martinez (undisclosed) is in the starting XI for Sunday's match against Burnley.
Impact Martinez was a late call for Sunday with some undisclosed injuries, but has already made his way back to the call, passing some testing to be an option. He immediately earns the start and should continue in this role, starting in all five of his appearances this season.

Emiliano Martinez - Late call for Sunday Martinez (undisclosed) is a late call for Sunday's match against Burnley, according to manager Unai Emery. "He's just had a scan an hour before the press conference and I don't kno...
Impact Martinez was a late scratch from Thursday's match and is now going to be a late call for Sunday, needing some testing to determine if he can play or not. This will decide who will be given the start in net Sunday, as the goalie is their regular starter when fit. However, if he is left out and unable to compete again, Marco Bizot is set to be his replacement.

John McGinn - Scores on return McGinn started and scored during Thursday's Europa League clash with Feyenoord.
Impact Mcginn came off injured against Fulham at the weekend, but was deemed fit enough for Thursday's match. The midfielder played 85 minutes and scored in the second half. McGinn is a key option in midfield and is in fine goalscoring form since shifting to defensive midfield, with three goals in his last three matches in all competitions.

Emiliano Martinez - Late scratch Thursday Martinez was a late scratch before Thursday's clash with Feyenoord.
Impact Martinez was scratched from the starting XI just minutes before Thursday's clash with Feyenoord. The goalkeeper has struggled with a few injuries of late, including a muscular issue that kept him out for the Europa League opener. None of the injuries have been serious, but the amount this early in the season has prevented Martinez from building a rhythm. Marco Bizot gets the start Thursday, and will be in line for the start during Sunday's clash with Burnley.

Tyrone Mings - Out until international break Mings (ankle) is going to be out until after the international break, according to Jacob Tanswell of The Athletic.
Impact Mings is going to be sidelined until after the international break due to an ankle injury that forced him off against Fulham. The defender was replaced by Pau Torres against Fulham and is now set to miss two more matches. Mings will be targeting a return for an Oct. 19 trip to Tottenham.

Youri Tielemans - Remains out Tielemans (calf) is out for Thursday's trip to Feyenoord, BirminghamLive reports.
Impact Tielemans remains on the sideline with a calf injury that he picked up in September. The injury isn't thought to be a serious one, but it appears it will sideline him until after the international break. A return to training during the break would be a great sign that he could be back as soon as a Sept. 19 trip to Tottenham.

Amadou Onana - Still recovering Onana (hamstring) is still recovering and is out for Thursday's trip to Feyenoord, BirminghamLive reports.
Impact Onana is still recovering from a hamstring injury that he suffered in August, and is set to be sidelined until after the break. The hope will be that he can recover fully after the break, though there's no exact timeline on his return. Onana would need to train over the break to be ready for an Oct. 19 trip to Tottenham.

Jadon Sancho - Out with illness Sancho (illness) is out for Thursday's trip to Feyenoord, but is training.
Impact Sancho missed a 3-1 win over Fulham with illness, and wasn't deemed fit enough to travel for Thursday's European clash. The winger is back in training and will hope to have built enough fitness to return to the bench for a Sunday clash with Burnley before the international break.
OCTOBER 1 • ROTOWIRE
Emiliano Buendia - Logs assist and goal off bench Buendia scored one goal and assisted once from two shots and one chance created in Sunday's 3-1 victory against Fulham.
Impact After three consecutive starts in the Premier League, Buendia was demoted for the Villa-Fulham game. The demotion paid dividends for him though. Brought on at halftime to re-vitalize a Villa team without a win this season, he did just that, assisting John McGinn and scoring himself to give the side a second and third goal respectively. Buendia has added to both sides of the coin for his G/A, and the hope for him is that he can regularly do so despite a role uncertainty.
SEPTEMBER 28 • ROTOWIRE
Ollie Watkins - Finally on scoresheet Watkins scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) in Sunday's 3-1 win versus Fulham.
Impact Past seasons have seen Watkins be recognized as a legitimate goal-scoring option, so his first five appearances (with zero goals) come off surprisingly poorly. However, Watkins is officially on the 2025-26 Premier League's scoresheet, which he will look to add upon more regularly in October.
SEPTEMBER 28 • ROTOWIRE
Morgan Rogers - Finally breaks slow start Rogers assisted once to go with one cross (zero accurate) and two chances created in Sunday's 3-1 win versus Fulham.
Impact Aston Villa's 2025-26 season has commenced poorly, with only one goal scored in its first five games. Rogers has been even worse, with zero goal contributions in the five-game span. It took six games, but finally Rogers is on the board for the 2025-26 Premier League's goal contributions. He assisted Emiliano Buendia, so the former ideally gets his ongoing season in motion moving forward. Rogers finished last season with 10 assists, so expectations are him for him to be a significant contributor.
SEPTEMBER 28 • ROTOWIRE
Lucas Digne - Amazing assist acquired Digne assisted once to go with one shot (one on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and one chance created in Sunday's 3-1 win versus Fulham.
Impact From box to box, Digne launched a long pass to Ollie Watkins that allowed the latter to go through on goal. In the process, the striker scored to give Aston Villa's team its first goal and tie the game that their team would eventually win. Team-wise, Digne's assist helped significantly, as the aforementioned Watkins had been having a cold season going into their latest game. As for Digne, he is on the 2025-26 season's board for assists.
SEPTEMBER 28 • ROTOWIRE
Emiliano Martinez - Three saves, one goal conceded Martinez recorded three saves and allowed one goal in Sunday's 3-1 win against Fulham.
Impact Before the Villa-Fulham game, Martinez's previous appearance saw Martinez log the same output against Sunderland. While solid, there is obviously room for significant improvement on Martinez, and his next Premier League opportunity comes Oct. 5 against Burnley.
