Ollie Watkins - Optimistic after injury Watkins was spotted limping after England's win over Wales on Thursday, but told reporters it wasn't serious.
Impact Watkins came off at halftime with an apparent injury at halftime, and was spotted limping, but isn't feared to have suffered a serious issue. The forward's status moving forward with the England squad could indicate if the injury is a concern, if he withdraws from the squad he would be in doubt for an Oct. 19 trip to Tottenham domestically.
OCTOBER 9 • ROTOWIRE
Lamare Bogarde - Seeing more playing time Bogarde has started in three of Aston Villa's seven EPL matches so far this season.
Impact Bogarde made eight appearances (three starts) in the Premier League in the 2024/25 season but looks poised to surpass those numbers easily this time around. He's alternating in midfield, and although his playing time should fluctuate as the season progresses, his fantasy upside likely won't change. As a defensive midfielder who rarely pushes forward, Bogarde shouldn't carry a ton of upside in most formats.
OCTOBER 9 • ROTOWIRE
Ian Maatsen - Alternating at left-back Maatsen has made three starts between the Premier League and the Champions League so far this season.
Impact Maatsen recorded 10 EPL starts last season but has made just one so far in the current campaign. Even though he's seeing decent playing time in the UEFA Europa League, it seems Digne will remain as the starter on the left side of the defense at the EPL level, limiting Maatsen's fantasy upside considerably.
OCTOBER 9 • ROTOWIRE
Pau Torres - Losing ground on starting role Torres has four starts and six total appearances across Villa's first nine matches between the Premier League and the UEFA Europa League.
Impact Torres has started Villa's last two matches due to the absence of Tyrone Mings (ankle), but when Mings and Ezri Konsa are healthy, they've emerged as the starting duo at center-back. This means Torres doesn't carry a lot of fantasy upside in most formats as a depth piece on offense who isn't starting regularly.
OCTOBER 9 • ROTOWIRE
Ezri Konsa - Consistent starter at center-back Konsa has started all but one match for Aston Villa between the Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.
Impact The England international seems to be Unai Emery's top choice at center-back ahead of Pau Torres and Tyrone Mings (ankle), with the latter duo often rotating next to Konsa. Konsa has 15 clearances, five blocked shots and two clean sheets in six Premier League appearances so far.
OCTOBER 9 • ROTOWIRE
Evann Guessand - Yet to score this season Guessand has yet to score a goal with Aston Villa this season.
Impact Guessand joined the club from French club OGC Nice in the summer, but he's yet to find the back of the net with his new club. He's had some encouraging performances, but overall, Guessand needs to score regularly to provide any sort of fantasy upside. The fact that he's taken just four shots in eight matches between the Premier League and the Europa League shows how minimal his influence in the attack has been so far.
OCTOBER 9 • ROTOWIRE
Youri Tielemans - Set to miss five more weeks Tielemans is set to miss up to a further five weeks due to a setback of his calf injury, according to Jacob Tanswell from The Athletic.
Impact Tielemans suffered a calf injury in the draw against Everton on Sept. 13 and has missed the following six matches across all competitions since then. The Belgian experienced a setback in his recovery and is expected to be sidelined for an additional five weeks. Lamare Bogarde should continue his growing role in the double pivot alongside Boubacar Kamara until Tielemans returns to full fitness.

Thomas Tuchel's bizarre Jack Grealish omission could hurt England's 2026 World Cup hopes - rejuvenated Everton star deserves the chance to fix Three Lions' left-wing problem
Lucas Digne - Seven accurate crosses Digne recorded one shot (one on goal), seven crosses (seven accurate) and four corners in Sunday's 2-1 victory over Burnley. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 53rd min...
Impact Digne set a season high with seven crosses and impressively managed to land each one accurately, also helping build up to his season-high five chances created in the win. Additionally, he registered a shot for a third time in four league outings, including his second one on target in that span.
OCTOBER 6 • ROTOWIRE
Emiliano Martinez - Solid in return Martinez registered one save and allowed one goal in Sunday's 2-1 win over Burnley. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 93rd minute.
Impact After missing the last game, Martinez returned to the goal and did enough to help his side hang on for the win. This was just the second time in five league games that he made no more than one save. However, he has yet to concede more than one goal in a game this season. Up next for Aston Villa is a meeting with Tottenham on October 19.
OCTOBER 6 • ROTOWIRE
Donyell Malen - Nets two in win Malen scored two goals to go with three shots (two on goal) and two chances created in Sunday's 2-1 win versus Burnley.
Impact Malen picked up his second start in seven league appearances and made the most of the opportunity by netting his first two goals of the campaign. His three shots and two on target both marked season highs. He also set a new season high with two chances created.
OCTOBER 6 • ROTOWIRE
Morgan Rogers - Assists in win Rogers assisted once to go with three shots (two on goal) and one chance created in Sunday's 2-1 victory versus Burnley.
Impact Rogers earned an assist for a second consecutive league match. He also set season highs with three shots and two on target. Additionally, this was his fifth straight appearance accounting for a chance created, bringing him to a total of seven in that span.
OCTOBER 6 • ROTOWIRE
Boubacar Kamara - Another assist Kamara assisted once to go with one shot (zero on goal) and two chances created in Sunday's 2-1 victory against Burnley.
Impact Kamara recorded an assist for a second straight outing and is up to two assists in league play this season. He also registered his first shot in six games and tied his season high with two chances created. Additionally, this was the third time in five appearances that he reached 60 completed passes.

Emiliano Buendia - Forced off with head injury Buendia suffered a blow to his face in Sunday's 2-1 victory against Burnley and was forced off late in the game.
Impact Buendia suffered a head injury and was forced off late in the game as a precaution. Coach Unai Emery told the media that he was recovering, and given the fact he wasn't stretchered off, the attacking midfielder should have avoided a concussion. This is good news knowing that he is back with the Villains this season and performing well, as he has contributed three goals in the last three games across all competitions. That said, if he has to miss some time, Donyell Malen should be the one replacing him in the frontline.
OCTOBER 6 • ROTOWIRE
Ross Barkley - Features off bench Barkley (personal) made his first appearance of the season as a substitute in Sunday's 2-1 win against Burnley, confirming he is back fit and available for Aston Villa.
Impact Barkley missed the beginning of the season due to personal problems but is now fully available for Aston Villa after featuring six minutes in Sunday's win against the Clarets, contributing one shot and one clearance. The midfielder will, however, maintain the same role as last season and remain a bench option at best under coach Unai Emery.
