Matt Villalta - Sent back to minors Villalta was reassigned to AHL Tucson on Monday, per Cole Bagley of KSL Sports.
Impact Villalta will return to Tucson after serving as Vitek Vanecek's backup in the absence of Karel Vejmelka (undisclosed). Across 33 outings with the Roadrunners this season, Villalta has a 16-12-3 record, a 3.10 GAA and an .895 save percentage. With Tucson's next game not until Wednesday, his return to the AHL indicates that Vejmelka might be ready to play in Tuesday's contest. If not, Villalta could return to the NHL club Tuesday to serve behind Vanecek one more.

MacKenzie Weegar - Plucks apple in loss Weegar notched an assist, two shots on goal, two hits and three blocked shots in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Flames.
Impact Weegar was able to get on the scoresheet in his first game back in Calgary since he was dealt to Utah. The defenseman missed a game due to an upper-body injury earlier in April, so it wouldn't be a surprise if he got rested for one or both of the Mammoth's last two contests before the playoffs. In 77 outings between the Flames and the Mammoth this season, he has four goals, 22 helpers, 153 shots on net, 166 hits, 173 blocked shots, 84 PIM and a minus-32 rating.

Lawson Crouse - Breaks up shutout bid Crouse scored a goal on two shots in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Flames.
Impact Crouse has three goals and two assists over his last five games. The 28-year-old's tally at 11:20 of the third period denied Dustin Wolf a shot at a shutout. Crouse has been dialed in on the top line lately and is up to 23 goals, 43 points, 138 shots on net, 206 hits, 52 blocked shots, 44 PIM and a plus-23 rating over 79 appearances. He's operating at the upper end of his usual production range, but a gig alongside Clayton Keller makes Crouse worth keeping in mind as a streaming target to close out the fantasy playoffs.

Vitek Vanecek - Yields four goals in loss Vanecek stopped 19 of 23 shots in Sunday's 4-1 loss to the Flames.
Impact The Mammoth were a little sloppy in the first period, including Vanecek's own shaky play, and that ended up being the difference. The 30-year-old netminder hadn't played since March 26 versus the Capitals. With the Mammoth locked into a wild-card spot, they may opt to rest Karel Vejmelka ahead of an anticipated heavy workload in the playoffs. Vanecek is at 5-12-3 wit ha 2.93 GAA and an .883 save percentage over 21 appearances this season and hasn't been very effective in the backup role. The Mammoth have two games left on the regular-season slate -- Tuesday versus the Jets and Thursday versus the Blues, both of which are home games.

Aydar Suniev - Logs first NHL point Suniev registered an assist in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Mammoth.
Impact Suniev is getting an NHL opportunity late in the season to show what he can do at a higher level. This was his first point in four games for the Flames this season, and it was also his first career point. He's added four shots on net and a plus-1 rating. Suniev will likely benefit from more time with AHL Calgary in 2026-27, though he could earn an NHL job with a strong showing in training camp.

Mikael Backlund - Tallies in Sunday's win Backlund scored a goal on two shots in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Mammoth.
Impact Backlund ended a nine-game goal drought with his third-period marker. The 37-year-old has generally had a good season, but his offense hasn't been able to flourish lately since he's taken on top-line duties following the Flames' deadline trade of Nazem Kadri to the Avalanche. Backlund is at 17 goals, 42 points, 184 shots on net and a plus-8 rating over 80 appearances this year, his most productive campaign in the last three seasons.
