Impact Smith has put together a strong December with eight goals and five assists over nine outings. He's gotten on the scoresheet in six of his last seven games as he continues to find consistency on offense. The Mammoth prospect is up to 16 goals and 36 points in just 30 contests, putting him four goals and three points shy of his marks from 52 regular-season outings a year ago.

Impact Sergachev had posted six assists during a 10-game goal drought. That slump ended with a second-period tally to briefly give the Mammoth a 2-1 lead. The defenseman continues to be steady on the top pairing this year. He's at five goals, 26 points, 86 shots on net, 72 blocked shots, 21 hits, 24 PIM and a minus-8 rating through 40 appearances as Utah's top blueliner.

JJ Peterka - Strikes on power play Peterka scored a power-play goal on three shots in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Predators.
Impact Peterka's tally opened the scoring at 5:48 of the first period, though Roman Josi evened the score before the midpoint of the frame. The 23-year-old Peterka is now 12 games removed from his last multi-point effort, accumulating three goals and four helpers in those contests. He's produced 15 goals, 28 points, 86 shots on net and a plus-5 rating through 40 appearances this season, primarily filling a top-six role in his first year with the Mammoth.

Impact Guenther set up JJ Peterka's first-period tally before scoring an even-strength goal in the third to put the Mammoth ahead 3-2. This was Guenther's second multi-point effort in his last three games, and it also featured his first power-play point since Dec. 12 versus the Kraken. The 22-year-old winger is up to 17 goals, 32 points, 132 shots on net, 34 hits and an even plus-minus rating over 40 appearances. Guenther's already looking like a reliable 60-point winger, and he's young enough to find another level or two on offense.

Vitek Vanecek - Fails to maintain leads Vanecek allowed four goals on 26 shots in Monday's 4-3 loss to the Predators.
Impact Vanecek let a trio of one-goal leads slip away in this contest. A double-dip from Steven Stamkos in a span of 1:38 in the middle of the third period ended up sending Vanecek to his sixth straight regulation loss, and it's his ninth defeat (0-8-1) in a row. The 29-year-old has allowed four goals in five of those losses, though he's also been a bit unlucky during the nearly two-month-long skid. For the season, he's at a 2-9-1 record with a 2.92 GAA and an .879 save percentage in 12 appearances. He'll likely get the bulk of the starts while Karel Vejmelka (upper body) is out, but Vanecek is a risky option for most fantasy formats.

Tomas Lavoie - Racks up three points Lavoie scored a goal and added two assists in QMJHL Chicoutimi's 6-0 win over Quebec on Monday.
Impact Lavoie had a fairly uninspiring first couple of months of the season, but he's heating up. He had four goals and six assists over his last six games, getting on the scoresheet in five of them. This was his second game with Chicoutimi after he was traded from Cape Breton earlier in December. The Mammoth prospect should continue to benefit from a stronger supporting cast with the Sagueneens, who are leading the QMJHL.
