Mikhail Sergachev - Puts away goal Sunday Sergachev scored a goal on two shots and blocked three shots in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets.

Impact Sergachev had three goals and four assists over his last seven outings. His tally put the Mammoth ahead 2-1 early in the second period, but the lead didn't last. The 27-year-old defenseman is up to seven goals, 32 points, 97 shots on net, 78 blocked shots and a minus-7 rating over 46 appearances. A return to the 60-point mark for the first time since 2022-23 is within the plausible range of outcomes if Sergachev stays healthy for the rest of the campaign.

Vitek Vanecek - Loses in overtime Vanecek stopped 33 of 36 shots in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets.

Impact Vanecek hadn't played in the Mammoth's last five games, but his return to the crease saw his losing streak stretch into a third month. He's now 0-8-2 over his last 10 outings, allowing 31 goals on 247 shots in that span. He's at a 2-9-2 record with a 2.92 GAA and an .883 save percentage over 13 contests this season. Karel Vejmelka, the NHL's wins leader, will likely continue to handle most of the work in goal since Vanecek hasn't provided the necessary quality of play to balance the playing time.

Vitek Vanecek - In goal against Columbus Vanecek will be between the home pipes Sunday versus the Blue Jackets.

Impact Vanecek will get his first start since Dec. 29. The 30-year-old is currently mired in a terrible stretch, as he is 0-8-1 with an .867 save percentage and a 3.24 GAA over his last nine appearances. Vanecek will look to earn his first victory since Oct. 26 against a Columbus squad that is on the second half of a back-to-back and has lost four consecutive games (0-3-1).

Kevin Rooney - Summoned from AHL Rooney has been recalled from AHL Tucson by the Mammoth, according to the NHL Media site.

Impact Rooney has appeared in just one NHL game this season. The 31-year-old has spent most of the year with AHL Tucson, registering 10 points (seven goals, three assists) in 20 games played. With Alex Kerfoot (upper body) going on injured reserve, it's Rooney who is called up in the corresponding move. It remains to be seen if he'll draw into the lineup Sunday or just serve as a depth forward for the foreseeable future.

Alexander Kerfoot - Placed on injured reserve Kerfoot (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Sunday, per the NHL media site.

Impact Kerfoot appeared in the Mammoth's last nine games, recording a goal, eight blocked shots, eight PIM and three hits while averaging 10:20 of ice time. However, he exited Friday's game against the Blues due to an upper-body injury and will be forced to miss at least a week after landing on injured reserve. Kevin Rooney was called up by Utah in a corresponding move to provide additional depth in Kerfoot's absence.

The defenseman is up to 17 points in 29 appearances for Tucson this season, a pace better than his 32-point effort over 65 regular-season contests in 2024-25. The Mammoth's blue line doesn't look to have room for him yet, but Szuber is looking at a third straight solid campaign in the AHL and could make a push for a roster spot in 2026-27.

Impact Castagna now has nine goals and 17 points through 15 appearances this season. The junior forward has surpassed his total from 32 games last year, but he's still eight points shy of matching his freshman year total. The Mammoth prospect has generally played well to help Cornell (11-4-0) stay ranked for much of the campaign.

Michael Hrabal - Collects first shutout Hrabal posted a 26-save shutout in UMass-Amherst's 2-0 win over Boston University on Saturday.

Impact BU shut out the Minutemen on Friday, but Hrabal returned the favor Saturday with his first clean performance of 2025-26. He's up to 7-6-0 on the year with this shutout. The Mammoth prospect hasn't been able to match his success from his first two NCAA seasons, but he's still seeing a majority of the playing time for UMass.

Caleb Desnoyers - Pops off with three points Desnoyers scored two goals and added an assist in QMJHL Moncton's 9-2 win over Newfoundland on Saturday.

Impact Desnoyers showed off his playmaking on the international stage with six helpers over seven points during Team Canada's run to the bronze medal at the World Junior Championship. He's also leaned more assist-heavy with the Wildcats this year, totaling eight goals and 21 helpers over 19 appearances. Saturday's effort was the second two-goal game for the Mammoth prospect this season, and he hasn't been held off the scoresheet in any QMJHL game he's played since Nov. 16.

Gabe Smith - Three points for Moncton in win Smith scored a goal and added two assists in QMJHL Moncton's 9-2 win over Newfoundland on Saturday.

Impact Smith has started January with six points over three outings. That follows a 15-point effort over 10 December games. For the season, the Mammoth prospect has 18 goals, 26 helpers and a plus-25 rating across 34 appearances, taking a large leap forward on offense in his fourth year of junior hockey.

Clayton Keller - Distributes three helpers Keller logged three assists, four shots on goal and a plus-3 rating in Friday's 4-2 win over the Blues.

Impact Keller played provider on the top line, helping out on both of Nick Schmaltz's goals as well as one tally by Lawson Crouse. The 27-year-old Keller has earned eight points over five outings in January. He's up to a total of 13 goals, 28 assists, 126 shots on net and a plus-9 rating through 45 contests this season. Keller's had better years, but he's trending in the right direction and should stay productive going forward.

Sean Durzi - Deposits goal in win Durzi scored a goal on two shots in Friday's 4-2 win over the Blues.

Impact Durzi has been steadier lately with a point in 10 of his last 12 outings, racking up three goals and four assists in that span. He's in a position to succeed with a top-four role and a spot on the second power-play unit, and he won't hurt fantasy managers in the non-scoring areas. Durzi is now at three goals, 13 points, 44 shots on net, 44 blocked shots, 24 PIM, 14 hits and a minus-10 rating through 24 appearances this season.

Lawson Crouse - Two-point effort in win Crouse scored a goal, dished an assist, added two PIM, doled out four hits and went plus-3 in Friday's 4-2 win over the Blues.

Impact Crouse has scored in consecutive contests and has seven points and a plus-9 rating over his last six games. The 28-year-old winger looks set to stay on the top line for a while given his success there lately. He's produced 11 goals, 22 points, 72 shots, 121 hits, 33 blocked shots and a plus-11 rating over 45 appearances this season.

Impact Schmaltz has racked up four goals and three assists over five outings in January. The 29-year-old forward's second goal Friday came on the power play, his first tally with the man advantage since Oct. 23, also against the Blues. For the season, he's up to 16 goals, 40 points (nine on the power play), 112 shots on net, 29 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating over 45 appearances in a top-six role.

Impact Vejmelka is the first goalie to reach the 20-win mark this season. He's on a bit of a roll with five wins over his last six outings, allowing just 14 goals on 163 shots in that span. The 29-year-old netminder is at 20-11-2 with a 2.63 GAA and an .898 save percentage through 34 appearances. His workload is a plus for fantasy managers, as Vitek Vanecek hasn't played well enough for Vejmelka to get much rest yet. The Mammoth's next game is Sunday versus the Blue Jackets.
