Anthony Stolarz - Skating, no timetable Stolarz (upper body) has resumed skating, but there's still no timetable for his return, Anna Dua of Sportsnet reports Wednesday.
Impact Stolarz hasn't played since Nov. 11 because of the injury. He has a 6-5-1 record, 3.51 GAA and .884 save percentage in 13 appearances this season. Joseph Woll is serving as the Maple Leafs' No. 1 goaltender during Stolarz's absence, while Dennis Hildeby occupies the No. 2 gig. When Stolarz is ready to return, Hildeby will likely head to the minors, and Woll will split the workload with Stolarz.
DECEMBER 31, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Chris Tanev - Out indefinitely Tanev (groin) is expected to miss a significant amount of time, according to Jonas Siegel of The Athletic on Wednesday.
Impact Tanev sat out Tuesday's 4-0 win over New Jersey, and an exact timeline for his return is unclear. He has provided two assists, eight shots on goal, 15 blocked shots and two hits while being limited to only 11 appearances this season. With Tanev unavailable, Simon Benoit could play regularly again after being a healthy scratch for three straight games before his return to the lineup against the Devils on Tuesday.
DECEMBER 31, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Dakota Joshua - Set to miss extended time Joshua (upper body) is expected to miss a significant amount of time, Anna Dua of Sportsnet reports Wednesday.
Impact Although the Maple Leafs have returned to Toronto, Joshua is still in Detroit after sustaining a kidney injury during Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Red Wings. He has six goals, 10 points, 25 PIM and 127 hits in 36 appearances this season. Calle Jarnkrok might play regularly while Joshua is unavailable.
DECEMBER 31, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Auston Matthews - "Fairly close" to return Matthews (lower body) is "fairly close" to returning to action, reports NHL.com.
Impact Coach Craig Berube shared the update after Tuesday's 4-0 win over the Devils, saying he hopes Matthews can get on the ice Wednesday for practice. He is day-to-day after getting hit on the foot with a shot Sunday. Matthews' first opportunity for game action is Thursday, and managers will be looking for him to build off his first three-point game of the season, which came on Saturday against Ottawa.
DECEMBER 31, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Matthew Knies - Four-game, six-point streak Knies scored a goal in a 4-0 win over New Jersey on Tuesday.
Impact Knies has goals in three straight games (four goals) and is on a four-game, six-point scoring streak. He also picked up seven PIM, including a rare five-minute major in a fight with Nico Hischier. Knies has 11 goals, 24 assists, 15 PIM, 90 hits and 79 shots in 36 games this season.
DECEMBER 31, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Calle Jarnkrok - First goal in 14 games Jarnkrok scored a goal in a 4-0 win over the Devils on Tuesday.
Impact Jarnkrok deflated any hope the Devils had of getting back in the game with his quick strike to push the score to 3-0 early in the third frame. He has been in and out of the lineup this season, and this goal won't be enough to see him solidify more playing time. But it was still a nice game for Jarnkrok, who missed three-quarters of last season with groin and sports hernia surgery. It was his first goal in 14 games.
DECEMBER 31, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Nicholas Robertson - Three-game, five-point streak Robertson delivered two assists in a 4-0 win over the Devils on Tuesday.
Impact Opportunity is knocking for Robertson with the Leafs missing both Auston Matthews (lower body) and William Nylander (lower body) on the shelf. He's on a modest three-game, five-point streak (two goals, three assists) with 11 shots, and his ice time has increased from 9:52 to 12:54 to 14:22 on this run. Robertson has talent, and this output could be bittersweet for the young man. Any offense he shows could increase his trade value, and the Leafs are in a spot where they may be looking to load up to get back to a playoff spot. And Robertson may end up being the bait.
DECEMBER 31, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Bobby McMann - Six points in last six games McMann had a goal and an assist in a 4-0 win over New Jersey on Tuesday.
Impact McMann's power-play goal stood as the winner. He has four goals, two assists and 20 shots in his last six games, and 22 points, including 13 goals, and 75 shots in 38 games overall. With a bit of luck, McMann could make a charge at 30 goals this season, including a few on the power play. And that's the hardest category to get in fantasy.

Nicolas Roy - Four points in last six games Roy scored a goal and added an assist Tuesday in a 4-0 win over the Devils.
Impact Roy's goal -- a tap past Jacob Markstrom's left pad -- came one second after a Leafs' power play expired. It was his fourth goal of the season (36 games). Roy isn't a regular offensive contributor, but he does have four points (two goals, two assists) to go with nine hits in his last six games. With Auston Matthews (lower body) out after taking a puck off the foot, Roy may see more opportunity short term. It will may not be enough to make him a fantasy asset at such a deep position, but the Leafs will go with hottest hand given their desperate need for points. And Roy seems to be a touch warmer than Scott Laughton right now.
DECEMBER 31, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Joseph Woll - First shutout of season Woll made 33 saves in a 4-0 win over New Jersey on Tuesday.
Impact Woll dazzled several times, in particular a miraculous reach-back with his stick to pull a sure goal off the line following a stuff attempt by Nico Hischier late in the second period. It preserved the score at 2-2. It was Woll's first shutout of the season and third of his career. Woll has had a strong December with six wins against just one loss and 15 goals allowed (.926) in seven starts. Anthony Stolarz (upper body) remains out indefinitely, and the Leafs have alternated Woll and Dennis Hildeby, who has gone 1-3-3 (21 goals; .901) in the same number of starts. At some point, it seems likely the Leafs will turn to Woll a bit more often given the team's need to win.

Joseph Woll - In goal Tuesday Woll will patrol the home crease against New Jersey on Tuesday, per David Alter of The Hockey News
Impact Woll has won his last two outings despite allowing eight goals on 63 shots. He has a 7-4-1 record this season with 2.73 GAA and a .913 save percentage through 12 appearances. New Jersey sits 27th in the league with 2.71 goals per game this year.
DECEMBER 30, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Auston Matthews - Out of action Tuesday Matthews (lower body) won't play Tuesday versus the Devils.
Impact Matthews' injury, sustained Sunday versus the Red Wings, will end up costing him at least one game. His next chance to play is Thursday versus the Jets. In Matthews' absence, look for John Tavares to move up to the first line, while Nicolas Roy and Scott Laughton could also be set for increased minutes.
DECEMBER 30, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Chris Tanev - Moves to IR Tanev (lower body) was put on injured reserve Tuesday, per the NHL media site.
Impact Tanev will miss at least the next three games after landing on the IR list, beginning with Tuesday's matchup against New Jersey. However, it's unclear when he will be ready to return. While being limited to 11 appearances this season, he has contributed two assists, eight shots on goal, 15 blocked shots and two hits.
DECEMBER 30, 2025 • ROTOWIRE
Dakota Joshua - Shifts to IR Joshua (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, per the NHL media site.
Impact Joshua is under observation in Detroit after suffering a kidney injury against the Red Wings on Sunday, according to Lance Hornby of The Toronto Sun. It's unclear when Joshua will be available to return to the lineup, but he will miss at least the next three games, starting with Tuesday's matchup against New Jersey. He has produced six goals, 10 points, 32 shots on net, 26 blocked shots and 127 hits through 36 appearances this season.

Impact Nylander will miss his second straight game and and sixth of the season Tuesday. The 29-year-old winger has generated 14 goals and 41 points over 33 games this season. Nylander's next chance to play will be against the Jets on Thursday.
