Jake McCabe - Returning against Devils McCabe (upper body) will be in the lineup versus New Jersey on Thursday, David Alter of The Hockey News reports.
Impact McCabe will return following a four-game stint on injured reserve due to his upper-body issue. Prior to his absence, the 31-year-old blueliner was offering decent offensive production with six points in his prior 13 outings -- far better than his 11-game pointless streak in November. With McCabe back in the lineup, Simon Benoit figures to be relegated to a spot in the press box.

Joseph Woll - Slated to start Thursday Woll is going through his regular game-day routine and is expected to be between the home pipes versus New Jersey on Thursday, according to David Alter of The Hockey News.
Impact Woll has struggled in losing his last two starts, allowing nine goals on only 56 shots. Overall, the netminder is 14-8-0 with one shutout, a 2.65 GAA and a .908 save percentage over 22 starts this season. The Devils are averaging 3.11 goals per game, 11th in the NHL this season.

John Tavares - Lands on injured reserve Tavares was placed on injured reserve Thursday with a lower-body injury.
Impact Tavares was hurt during Wednesday's practice session and appears to have suffered a significant injury. Other than the announcement regarding his IR designation, the Leafs haven't clarified the nature or severity of the center's injury. In a corresponding move, Fraser Minten was recalled from AHL Toronto while Max Domi could slide into Tavares' second-line role.

Impact McCabe has been sidelined for the past week and a half due to his upper-body injury, but he appears to be trending toward a return. While it's not yet clear whether he'll be available for Thursday's matchup against the Devils, the Maple Leafs also have games against the Canadiens on Saturday and against Tampa Bay on Monday, and he'll likely be in the mix to return in those games if he isn't given the green light against New Jersey.

Impact Tavares is one of Toronto's top forwards with 20 goals and 42 points in 44 appearances in 2024-25.
