Jake O'Brien - Leading performer in win Friday O'Brien scored a goal on two shots and added two assists in OHL Brantford's 6-0 win over Sudbury on Friday.
Impact O'Brien has been back in the junior ranks for a couple of weeks, and he's already racked up eight points in five games for the Bulldogs. The Kraken prospect is captaining Brantford this year, so he'll be a massive part of the team's offense and could also be in contention for a spot on Team Canada's World Junior Championship roster. He had 98 points in 66 regular-season games in 2024-25, which was his draft year.

Impact Larsson set up defense partner Vince Dunn's opening goal at 2:21 of the first period. While Larsson's on the scoresheet in the first game of the season, he won't be the most reliable scorer on a blue line that features Dunn and Brandon Montour. Look for 100-plus hits and blocked shots with a point total in the 25-30 range for Larsson this season, which is enough all-around production to make him valuable in deeper formats.

Impact Marchment tallied on a set-up from Brandon Montour at 3:50 of the second period. That goal was the game-winner, and it was Marchment's first as a member of the Kraken following an offseason trade from the Stars. While the supporting cast in Seattle isn't as strong as the one in Dallas, Marchment figures to be a regular in the middle six as well as on the power play. He has 20-goal, 50-point potential and chips in decent marks in hits and PIM, which gives him fantasy appeal in banger formats.

Impact Dunn battled an undisclosed injury during the preseason, but he was able to handle a top-four role Thursday, playing 19:54 in the win. He scored the Kraken's first goal of the season just 2:21 into the game. The 28-year-old defenseman has plenty of fantasy potential, though it may be a bit much to ask him to replicate his career year of 64 points from 2022-23. He had 39 points over 62 outings in 2024-25, and he should be able to push over the 40-point threshold if he can stay healthy this year. At his best, Dunn is a steady offensive defenseman who can provide decent totals in PIM and blocked shots as well.

Impact McCann scored the Kraken's third goal at 4:25 of the third period. The 29-year-old saw 18:24 of ice time, which is more than he averaged last year (17:13 per game). McCann missed nearly all of training camp due to a lower-body injury, but it appears the Kraken were just making sure one of their top forwards would be ready for the regular season. He'll be a regular in the top six and on the power play throughout 2025-26.

Impact Daccord was tested early and often in the season opener, but he limited the damage to a Beckett Sennecke goal in the first period. Expect a heavy workload for Daccord throughout 2025-26 after he played in a career-high 57 games last year, going 27-23-5 with a 2.75 GAA and a .906 save percentage. The 29-year-old is the clear No. 1 on the Kraken's roster while Philipp Grubauer and Matt Murray will compete for starts in the backup role. The Kraken have a tougher test ahead when they host the Golden Knights on Saturday.
