Igor Shesterkin - Loses despite making 32 saves Shesterkin stopped 32 of 34 shots in a 3-1 loss to the Flyers on Friday. The final goal was scored on an empty net.
Impact Shesterkin got into trouble early, surrendering two goals in the first 4:24 minutes of the game. He was perfect after that, but the Rangers were unable to recover from the early deficit. Shesterkin has now lost each of his past four starts, dropping to 8-8-1 in 2024-25. On the bright side, he ended his run of four straight outings in which he allowed three or more goals, so perhaps he's turning a corner, despite the outcome Friday not being in his favor.

Vincent Trocheck - Scores fifth goal of 2024-25 Trocheck found the back of the net in the Rangers' 3-1 loss to Philadelphia on Friday.
Impact Trocheck cut the Flyers' lead in half with his marker midway through the second frame, but that's all the Rangers managed to get past goaltender Ivan Fedotov. Trocheck has five goals and 11 points in 22 appearances in 2024-25. His goal snapped his six-game scoring drought.

Chris Kreider - Not playing Friday Kreider (upper body) will not dress Friday in Philadelphia, Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today reports.
Impact Kreider will miss his third straight game with the injury. Kreider has nine goals with nary an assist in 19 games this season, including three goals on the power play. Kreider will play alongside Mika Zibanejad when he returns to action. Consider Kreider day-to-day and he could be back as early as Saturday versus Montreal.

The Rangers' lines are in flux due to the absences of Filip Chytil (upper body) and Chris Kreider (upper body), as well as the team's generally lackluster play in recent weeks.

The veteran winger has two goals, one assist, 11 shots on net and 10 hits over 11 outings this season. That production is not enough for most fantasy managers, especially when Vesey isn't getting more than scraps for power-play time.

Nice night for Edstrom, who prioritizes physical play over offense. His fantasy value is extremely limited.

Brett Berard - Nabs first NHL goal in loss Berard scored a goal Wednesday in a 4-3 loss to the Hurricanes.
Impact Berard his first NHL goal in his second NHL game. He kept the puck on a 2-on-1 rush and beat Spencer Martin short-side with a wrist shot from the left circle. It tied the game 2-2 in the second period. Berard has a point in each of this first two games (one goal, one assist). He had 13 points, including seven goals, in 16 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack in the AHL prior to his call-up to Broadway.

Impact Shesterkin has allowed at least three goals in each of his past four starts, a span in which he went 1-3-0. It's important to note that in two of those games, Shesterkin faced 43 or more shots. The Rangers are struggling through a four-game losing streak, three of which have been hung on Shesty. Prior to the losing streak, the Rangers had not lost consecutive games all season. He's one of the NHL's best netminders, so this is nothing more than a blip.
