Mike Matheson - No worse for wear Matheson logged a power-play assist, five blocked shots and two hits in Saturday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Islanders.
Impact Matheson left Thursday's game versus the Kings due to an upper-body injury, but he didn't miss action. He led the Canadiens with 28:10 of ice time Saturday, proving he's no worse for wear after the injury scare. The 30-year-old blueliner has chipped in four assists, seven shots on net, 17 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over six contests while serving as the Canadiens' top overall defenseman.

Kyle Palmieri - Puts away second goal Palmieri scored a goal on three shots in Saturday's 4-3 shootout win over the Canadiens.
Impact Palmieri has done alright early in the year, earning two goals, one assist, 17 shots on net, three hits and a plus-1 rating over five games. The 33-year-old winger continues to occupy a second-line role with power-play time. Palmieri returned to former glory with 30 goals and 24 assists over 82 regular-season outings last year, his second-highest point total in a single season in his career. That came with 20 power-play points, but he has yet to log a power-play point this season despite similar usage.
