Kaiden Guhle - Helps in win Guhle had an assist, three blocked shots and two hits in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Avalanche.

Impact Guhle was part of the forechecking pressure administered by the Canadiens that led to Joel Armia's game-winning goal late in the first period. Not known much for his offense, the 22-year-old Guhle has five points over the last four contests and a career-high 20 for the season. He leads Montreal in blocks (174) and is fourth in hits (110).

Alex Newhook - Logs assist in win Newhook had an assist, three shots on net and one block in Tuesday's 2-1 win over Colorado.

Impact Newhook's shot from the point led to Joel Armia's game-winning tally late in the first period. The second-line center has three points over the last two games and is up to 25 through 44 contests. He's within shouting distance of the career-high 33 points (71 games) he had in 2021-22, when Newhook was a member of the Avalanche.

Impact Armia potted what turned out to be the game-winning goal late in the first period after dogged forecheck work by the Canadiens. He controlled a puck that had gotten behind Justus Annunen and pocketed a wraparound shot for his 12th tally of the season. The goal snapped a nine-game pointless run for the 30-year-old forward, who still manages to get healthy run on the rebuilding Habs' second line.

Impact Savard had the secondary helper on Nick Suzuki's first-period strike, which came just nine seconds after Nathan MacKinnon gave the Avalanche a 1-0 lead. The defenseman's offensive contributions have been modest -- 18 points in 49 games -- but Savard's a high-volume blocker of shots. He's third on the Canadiens with 130 (2.65 per game).

Impact It took Suzuki just nine seconds after Nathan MacKinnon put Colorado up, 1-0, to respond. He beat Casey Mittelstadt along the boards and went directly to the net for his 29th goal. The point raised his season total to a career-high 67 through 71 games.
