Fades late in loss
Dobes allowed three goals on 24 shots in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Capitals in Game 4. The last two goals were empty-netters.
Impact
Dobes got the start since Sam Montembeault (lower body) was unavailable. The Canadiens took a 2-1 lead after two periods, but Dobes was unable to protect it in the final frame. He won his playoff debut in relief of Montembeault in Friday's Game 3, but Dobes is still a a relatively untested rookie netminder. The Canadiens will be facing elimination in Game 5 at Washington on Wednesday, and Dobes will get the nod if Montembeault remains out.

Drawing start in Game 4
Dobes will serve as the starting netminder at home against the Canadiens in Sunday's Game 4, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Impact
Dobes entered Friday's Game 3 in relief after Sam Montembeault (lower body) exited the matchup. Montembeault is considered day-to-day, so Dobes will make his first postseason start Sunday. Dobes made 16 appearances during the regular season, going 7-4-3 with a 2.74 GAA and .909 save percentage.

Picks up win in relief outing
Dobes stopped seven of eight shots in Friday's 6-3 win over the Capitals in Game 3.
Impact
Dobes made a relief appearance after Sam Montembeault (undisclosed) was unable to finish the contest. Dobes entered when the game was tied at 2-2, and the Canadiens took care of business in the third period to get the win. Montembeault's injury creates significant concern despite Dobes' performance in Game 3, as the Canadiens were already facing an uphill battle that only gets steeper if they have to lean on their backup goalie. Game 4 is Sunday in Montreal, and it's unclear if Montembeault will be able to suit up for it.

In goal Saturday
Dobes will protect the road goal versus the Maple Leafs on Saturday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Impact
Dobes will get the second half of the Canadiens' back-to-back after Sam Montembeault was in goal for Friday's 5-2 loss to the Senators. Dobes won his last start over the Predators, but he had lost his previous three decisions. He is 7-4-2 with a 2.87 GAA and a .904 save percentage over 15 games.
