Sabres' winless streak hits 15 as Penguins roll to 5-2 win
Sidney Crosby picked up his 13th goal of the season and the Pittsburgh Penguins extended Buffalo’s winless streak to 15 games with a 5-2 victory

Handled by Penguins
Tokarski stopped 37 of 42 shots Wednesday in a 5-2 loss to Pittsburgh.
Impact
Tokarski's reward after spending the previous three years in the AHL was to join a Buffalo team that has now lost 15 games in a row. The 31-year-old was making his first start since Dec. 2015 and was actually having a fine performance until the Penguins blew the game open late in the second period. He got tied up with his own defenseman and was unable to reset in time to stop a John Marino one-timer that made it 3-1, then Frederick Gaudreau got him to overcommit three minutes later on a breakaway before feeding the trailing Zach Aston-Reese for a short-handed tally. Tokarski's role going forward will hinge entirely on the availability of Carter Hutton (lower body) and Linus Ullmark (lower body).

Gets starting nod
Tokarski will patrol the crease during Wednesday's road game versus the Penguins, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports.
Impact
Tokarski was forced into action in relief of an injured Carter Hutton (lower body) Monday against the Rangers, surrendering four goals on 37 shots in 56:23 of ice time en route to a 5-3 defeat. The 31-year-old backstop will attempt to secure his first NHL win since 2015-16 in a tough road matchup with a Pittsburgh team that's 12-3-1 at home this year.

Forced into action Monday
Tokarski stopped 33 of 37 shots in relief of Carter Hutton (lower body) during Monday's 5-3 loss to the Rangers.
Impact
After being called up to the Sabres earlier in the day to serve as the team's No. 2 goalie, Tokarski was pressed into service right away when Julian Gauthier slid into Hutton less than three minutes into the first period. The severity of Hutton's injury isn't yet clear, but with Linus Ullmark (lower body) not yet practicing, Tokarski could find himself at the top of the depth chart chart in the short term.
