Moves past injury, sent to minors Kuefler (upper body) has been removed from the non-roster injured list and was returned to AHL Bridgeport on Tuesday.

Impact Kuefler was hurt in a preseason game against the Devils on Sept. 23, but he'll head to the minors now that he's seemingly moved past his upper-body issue. The 23-year-old appeared in 16 games with Bridgeport last season, logging two helpers, 11 PIM and a minus-8 rating.

Impact Kuefler was always going to be a long shot to make the Opening Night roster, and his injury during camp likely cemented him as an eventual minor-league player. Once the 23-year-old winger is given the all-clear, look for him to be reassigned to AHL Bridgeport.

Impact Kuefler was injured in the first period. The 23-year-old forward is not expected to make the NHL roster even if he's able to shake off this day-to-day injury in a timely manner. He will spend most, if not all, of 2025-26 in the minors with AHL Bridgeport.

Impact Kuefler was a sixth-round pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft and will soon make his AHL debut. The 21-year-old scored 31 goals and 61 points in his final season with WHL Kamloops before signing his entry-level deal with the Islanders in May.
