Kraken look to continue high scoring against Rangers The Seattle Kraken went back to basics and it paid off.
Brandon Tanev - Moves to injured reserve Tanev (lower body) was placed on injured reserve Friday, per CapFriendly.
Impact Tanev is expected to be sidelined into mid-November, so this move frees up a roster spot for the Kraken. With Jaden Schwartz (undisclosed) also ailing, the team may need to recall a forward from AHL Coachella Valley.

Callahan Burke - Receives call-up Burke was called up from AHL Colorado on Friday under emergency conditions.
Impact Burke's call-up suggests Sebastian Aho (upper body) may not be available for Saturday's game versus the Avalanche. Burke was acquired from the Avalanche in a trade just before the season started, with Caleb Jones going back to Colorado. Burke has remained with AHL Colorado since the Hurricanes don't have an AHL affiliate this season.

Martin Necas - Posts helper Necas notched a power-play assist, four shots on goal and a minus-3 rating in Thursday's 7-4 loss to the Kraken.
Impact Necas took a shot that caromed off Jordan Staal and went to Seth Jarvis, who buried it for his second goal of the game. The helper kept Necas hot to start the season -- he has two goals, three assists and three power-play points through five contests. The top-six winger has added 14 shots on net, but he also has an ugly minus-5 rating.

Jordan Staal - Hands out two assists Staal notched two assists and three shots on goal in Thursday's 7-4 loss to the Kraken.
Impact Staal helped out on goals by Jesper Fast and Seth Jarvis, with the latter's goal coming on the power play. The 35-year-old Staal typically doesn't see much power-play time -- he didn't record a point with the man advantage at all last season. He's up to one goal, three helpers, eight shots on net, five hits and a minus-1 rating through five outings in 2023-24.
