Samuel Honzek - Undergoes surgery Honzek (upper body) underwent surgery Thursday that is expected to sideline him for up to six months, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.
Impact Honzek sustained an upper-body injury last weekend and landed on injured reserve. He was initially considered week-to-week, but he could be forced to miss the remainder of the regular season following his procedure. The 21-year-old made 18 appearances prior to sustaining his injury, recording two goals, two assists, 35 hits, six blocked shots and two PIM while averaging 12:21 of ice time.

Mikael Backlund - Scores in third-period rally Backlund scored a goal on three shots in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Sabres.
Impact Backlund's tally at 7:34 of the third period extended the Flames' lead to 4-2. The 36-year-old has a goal and three helpers over his last five games, and he's gone plus-5 in that span as well. The center is up to four goals, seven helpers, 52 shots on net, 15 hits and a plus-3 rating through 22 appearances. He's fallen short of the 40-point mark in back-to-back seasons, but he's now on pace to reach it this year despite the Flames' abysmal team offense.

Yegor Sharangovich - Two helpers in Buffalo Sharangovich collected two assists in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Sabres.
Impact Both points came in the first period as the Flames grabbed an early 2-0 lead, before finally pulling away in the third. It was Sharangovich's first multi-point performance of the season, and it snapped a five-game point drought sandwiched around a two-game absence as a healthy scratch. The 27-year-old's 31-goal, 59-point campaign in 2023-24 seems like a distant memory, and through his first 18 games in 2025-26, Sharangovich has managed just two goals and six points.

Nazem Kadri - Two-point effort Wednesday Kadri picked up two assists while adding a team-high six shots on net, a hit and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Sabres.
Impact The veteran center had a hand in a pair of Joel Farabee tallies in the first and third periods. While it's not from lack of trying, Kadri hasn't found the back of the net himself in seven straight games despite firing 28 shots on goal. Through 22 contests on the season, he's produced four goals and 14 points.

Jonathan Huberdeau - Two helpers in win over Sabres Huberdeau notched two assists in Wednesday's 6-2 win over Buffalo.
Impact Both helpers came in the third period, as he set up Morgan Frost for the game-winner before getting credit for an assist on a fluky tally by Matthew Coronato that caromed off the end glass before bouncing in off Colten Ellis' skate. It was Huberdeau's first multi-point effort since Nov. 2, and on the season the veteran winger has four goals and 11 points in 17 games.
NOVEMBER 20 • ROTOWIRE
Morgan Frost - Two points including GWG Frost scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Sabres.
Impact The former Flyer broke open a 2-2 tie early in the third period by tapping home a slick feed from Jonathan Huberdeau. Frost has two multi-point performances in the last three games but only one other point in November, and on the season the 26-year-old center has managed four goals and 12 points in 22 contests.
NOVEMBER 20 • ROTOWIRE
Matt Coronato - Two points in Buffalo Coronato scored a goal and added an assist in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Sabres.
Impact Both points came in the third period as the Flames broke open a 2-2 tie. Coronato has begun to dig himself out from a rough start to the season, getting onto the scoresheet in three straight games and racking up five goals and nine points over his last 11 contests, including three tallies on the power play.
NOVEMBER 20 • ROTOWIRE
Rasmus Andersson - Three points in Wednesday's win Andersson scored a goal on three shots on net and added two assists, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Sabres.
Impact The veteran blueliner opened the scoring early in the first period before helping to set up tallies by Mikael Backlund and Joel Farabee in the third. Andersson is likely to be on the move before the trade deadline, and while that cloud hanging over him may have contributed to his sluggish start to the season, he's found a groove in November with three goals and eight points in the last eight games.
NOVEMBER 20 • ROTOWIRE
Joel Farabee - Lights lamp twice in win Farabee scored two goals in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Sabres.
Impact After giving the Flames a 2-0 lead in the first period, Farabee added an insurance tally in the third as the visitors began to pull away. The 25-year-old winger snapped a six-game point drought with the performance, and it was the first time in 2025-26 he's produced multiple points in a game. Through 22 contests on the season, Farabee has scratched out just four goals and nine points.
NOVEMBER 20 • ROTOWIRE
Devin Cooley - Nabs first win of season Cooley turned aside 28 shots in Wednesday's 6-2 win over Buffalo.
Impact The 28-year-old netminder collected his first win of the season with a sharp performance that included denying the Sabres on all 13 of their shots in the third period as the Flames began to pull away. Cooley has made only six appearances this season while working behind Dustin Wolf, going 1-2-1, but his usage could increase considering he has yet to allow more than three goals in any of those outings, resulting in a 1.80 GAA and .935 save percentage.
