Finds twine Thursday
Wennberg scored a goal, placed two shots on net and recorded two blocked shots in Thursday's 2-1 overtime loss to St. Louis.
Impact
Wennberg tied Thursday's contest early in the third period before the Sharks fell in the final moments of overtime. Overall, the 31-year-old center has 14 goals, 45 points, 82 shots on net and 85 blocked shots across 69 games this season. The 12-year NHL veteran has impressed on both ends of the ice this season. He's on pace to reach the 50-point mark for just the second time in his career and also ranks third among the league's forwards in blocked shots. He holds solid fantasy value in nearly all category-based leagues for the remainder of the regular season.

Slides helper Tuesday
Wennberg notched an assist and two shots on goal in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Oilers.
Impact
Wennberg was essentially a game-time decision for the contest but ultimately was able to return from a one-game absence due to an upper-body injury. The 31-year-old logged 19:19 of ice time while playing in all situations, so he should be good to go as long as he avoids setbacks. He's up to 44 points, 78 shots on met, 79 blocked shots and a minus-18 rating over 65 appearances. In point production, this is his best campaign since his career year of 59 points in 80 outings in 2016-17.

Set to play Tuesday
Wennberg (upper body) is slated to play Tuesday versus the Oilers, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports.
Impact
Wennberg was hurt Saturday in Montreal, but it looks like he'll return after just a one-game absence. He has a goal and three assists over three outings prior to the injury. Wennberg is set to play in his usual middle-six role and should be expected to play in all situations.

Status unclear in Edmonton
Wennberg (upper body) status for Tuesday's game in Edmonton has yet to be determined, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Impact
Head coach Ryan Warsofsky stated Sunday that Wennberg had no timeline for a return to the lineup, but the 31-year-old forward skated on the second line and with the No. 1 power-play unit at Tuesday's morning skate, so his injury clearly isn't a huge concern. At this point, though, he should be considered a game-time decision for Tuesday's road divisional matchup.

No timeline for return
Head coach Ryan Warsofsky said Sunday that Wennberg (upper body) has no timeline for a return to the lineup, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Impact
Wennberg suffered his upper-body injury during Saturday's 4-2 win in Montreal. Igor Chernyshov is also dealing with an upper-body injury, so Pavol Regenda and Philipp Kurashev got back into the lineup in Sunday's 7-4 loss in Ottawa. The Sharks conclude their road trip Tuesday in Edmonton, so a more substantial update on Wennberg's status may not be available until the team returns to San Jose.

Out of lineup Sunday
Wennberg (upper body) did not take the ice for warmups and won't play Sunday against the Senators, the team announced.
Impact
Wennberg's absence comes as a bit of a surprise as he finished Saturday's game against the Canadiens and recorded an assist in 16:45 of ice time. The 31-year-old is in the midst of one of his best seasons, registering 43 points (13 goals, 30 assists) in 64 games on the year so far. The Sharks will be next in action Tuesday in Edmonton, and it remains to be seen whether he'll be available for that game yet.

Best season in close to decade
Wennberg had a goal and an assist in a 6-3 loss to Buffalo on Tuesday.
Impact
His goal came on the power play. It cut the score to 5-3 early in the third frame. Wennberg is having his best offensive season since he set a career mark with 59 points back in 2016-17. He has 13 goals and 28 assists in 62 games. Tuesday's game was Wennberg's first multi-point game since Jan. 6.

Tallies in high-scoring win
Wennberg scored a goal on three shots, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Canadiens.
Impact
Wennberg has scored in two of the Sharks' last three games. The 31-year-old center continues to fill a middle-six role, providing some depth scoring and overall stability to a young roster. He's now at 12 goals, 39 points, 71 shots on net, 75 blocked shots and a minus-15 rating over 59 appearances for the season.

Puts away goal
Wennberg scored a goal and blocked two shots in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Oilers.
Impact
Wennberg ended an 11-game goal drought with the third-period tally. He had five assists in that span. Scoring isn't a huge part of Wennberg's game, but he has racked up 11 goals and 38 points in 57 appearances this season. He's added 68 shots on net, 73 blocked shots and a minus-17 rating. Wennberg's experience and defensive work helps to shelter some of the Sharks' younger players, which was enough for the team to sign him to a three-year extension back in January.

Matches last year's goal total
Wennberg scored a goal in Sunday's 7-2 loss to the Golden Knights.
Impact
Wennberg stayed hot with his third goal and sixth point over the last four games. The rest of the Sharks couldn't say the same in this blowout loss. The 31-year-old center is already at 10 goals this season, matching his total from last year in 32 fewer appearances. He's up to 32 points, 55 shots on net, 55 blocked shots and a minus-12 rating over 45 appearances in 2025-26 while filling a second-line role.

Strikes on power play
Wennberg scored a power-play goal on four shots in Saturday's 5-4 overtime win over the Stars.
Impact
Wennberg helped the Sharks dig out of a 2-0 deficit with his goal early in the second period. The 31-year-old center took multiple shots on net for just the second time in the last nine contests, but he's scored in each of those instances with multiple shots during that span. For the season, Wennberg has nine goals, 22 helpers, nine power-play points, 54 shots on net, 55 blocked shots and a minus-11 rating through 44 outings, mainly in a second-line role. He's one goal and four points shy of matching his output from 77 games a year ago, and he's well on his way to just the third 40-point campaign of his career.
