Slides helper Tuesday Wennberg notched an assist and two shots on goal in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Oilers.

Impact Wennberg was essentially a game-time decision for the contest but ultimately was able to return from a one-game absence due to an upper-body injury. The 31-year-old logged 19:19 of ice time while playing in all situations, so he should be good to go as long as he avoids setbacks. He's up to 44 points, 78 shots on met, 79 blocked shots and a minus-18 rating over 65 appearances. In point production, this is his best campaign since his career year of 59 points in 80 outings in 2016-17.

Set to play Tuesday Wennberg (upper body) is slated to play Tuesday versus the Oilers, Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now reports.

Impact Wennberg was hurt Saturday in Montreal, but it looks like he'll return after just a one-game absence. He has a goal and three assists over three outings prior to the injury. Wennberg is set to play in his usual middle-six role and should be expected to play in all situations.

Status unclear in Edmonton Wennberg (upper body) status for Tuesday's game in Edmonton has yet to be determined, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Impact Head coach Ryan Warsofsky stated Sunday that Wennberg had no timeline for a return to the lineup, but the 31-year-old forward skated on the second line and with the No. 1 power-play unit at Tuesday's morning skate, so his injury clearly isn't a huge concern. At this point, though, he should be considered a game-time decision for Tuesday's road divisional matchup.

No timeline for return Head coach Ryan Warsofsky said Sunday that Wennberg (upper body) has no timeline for a return to the lineup, Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Impact Wennberg suffered his upper-body injury during Saturday's 4-2 win in Montreal. Igor Chernyshov is also dealing with an upper-body injury, so Pavol Regenda and Philipp Kurashev got back into the lineup in Sunday's 7-4 loss in Ottawa. The Sharks conclude their road trip Tuesday in Edmonton, so a more substantial update on Wennberg's status may not be available until the team returns to San Jose.

Out of lineup Sunday Wennberg (upper body) did not take the ice for warmups and won't play Sunday against the Senators, the team announced.

Impact Wennberg's absence comes as a bit of a surprise as he finished Saturday's game against the Canadiens and recorded an assist in 16:45 of ice time. The 31-year-old is in the midst of one of his best seasons, registering 43 points (13 goals, 30 assists) in 64 games on the year so far. The Sharks will be next in action Tuesday in Edmonton, and it remains to be seen whether he'll be available for that game yet.
