Won't return to practice this week Head coach Mike Macdonald said Wednesday that the Seahawks won't open Charbonnet's (knee) practice window this week, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.

Impact Charbonnet kicked off the season on the reserve/PUP list due to the left ACL tear that he sustained in the divisional round of the playoffs back on Jan. 17. Due to new rules for players on the reserve/PUP list, he's eligible to practice as soon as Week 3 prep and be activated for Week 5 action, but Seattle won't go that route with the running back just yet. Macdonald relayed to Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune last Friday that the team is closing in on a decision for Charbonnet to resume practicing, so that appears to be on the horizon for the fourth-year pro. Jadarian Price (shoulder), Emanuel Wilson and George Holani will man the backfield until Charbonnet is ready for game action.

Impact Because Charbonnet resides on the reserve/PUP list, he won't be eligible to practice until at least Week 5 prep, which would still be about a week and a half shy of being nine months removed from the torn left ACL he suffered Jan. 17. Once Seattle decides to open his practice window, he then will have three weeks to prove his health before either being activated or otherwise shut down for the rest of the season. As a result, he likely won't practice when he's first eligible to do so, but Macdonald's comments at least are an encouraging sign that Charbonnet is expected to return at some point in the regular season. Rookie first-rounder Jadarian Price, George Holani and Emanuel Wilson will continue to hold down the fort at running back for the Seahawks for as long as Charbonnet is sidelined.

In that scenario, fellow RBs Jadarian Price (lower body), George Holani and Emanuel Wilson (hamstring) would be in line to see added opportunities early on this season. Seattle's unofficial depth chart currently lists Holani ahead of Price (listed second) and Wilson (third), and while Holani figures to see his share of touches come Week 1, Price - the No. 32 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft - remains the upside play in fantasy terms and should also claim a decent portion of the workload, provided he can get (and stay) healthy before then.
