Impact Payne sacked Caleb Williams for a 15-yard loss late in the second quarter, which forced the Bears to punt on the next play. It was Payne's first solo sack of 2024, and through the first eight games of the regular season he has logged 15 tackles (11 solo), including 1.5 sacks.

Impact Wagner has logged six or more tackles in each of the Commanders' first eight games of the regular season. He's up to 69 combined tackles on the year, which is the most on the Commanders and tied with Zack Baun for 11th in the NFL.

Impact After opening the regular season with a nine-tackle effort against the Buccaneers in Week 1, Martin failed to log more than six combined tackles in each of the Commanders next six games. The starting free safety was more heavily involved Sunday, however, as he led the Commanders with 11 tackles while playing 52 defensive snaps. Martin is up to 44 combined tackles through eight regular-season games and is two shy from matching his production across 16 regular-season outings in 2023.

Impact Sinnott played just 22 percent of offensive snaps during Sunday's win over Chicago, with John Bates (33 percent) working as the No. 2 man behind top tight end Zach Ertz (75 percent). The rookie second-round pick continues to battle with Bates for weekly opportunities behind Ertz, and he figures to lack a clear path to fantasy upside until such time as he can earn a chance at the starting gig himself. Sinnott secured both of his targets for six yards and a score Week 7 versus Carolina, but he's been held without a catch in seven out of eight appearances on the year.

Impact Brown, who played 32 percent of offensive snaps, continues to mix in with Luke McCaffrey (36 percent) and Olamide Zaccheaus (35 percent) for No. 3 wide receiver reps behind top options Terry McLaurin and Noah Brown. The 2021 third-round pick has now logged seven straight games with at least one catch, but he's averaging just 19.1 yards per contest in that span. Brown will look to do more with his opportunities Week 9 against the Giants.

Impact McCaffrey improved on his Week 7 performance, in which he failed to draw a single target in a blowout win over Carolina, but his production versus Chicago remains lackluster. His share of offensive snaps (36 percent) has been more similar to the likes of Olamide Zaccheaus (35 percent) and Dyami Brown (32 percent) than starters Terry McLaurin and Noah Brown. Heading into a Week 9 matchup against the Giants, the rookie third-round pick will remain off the fantasy radar until he's able to showcase more consistency and/or upside.

Scarcely involved in Week 8 win McNichols rushed once for minus-one yards in Sunday's 18-15 win over the Bears.
Impact McNichols played just seven percent of offensive snaps versus Chicago, his lowest total since Week 2. Brian Thomas (58 percent of snaps) and Austin Ekeler (47 percent of snaps) remain the clear top options in the Commanders' backfield, but if either misses time, McNichols will be first in line for added opportunities. From Week 4 to Week 7, McNichols rushed for at least 40 yards in three of four contests.

Impact His route share (45 percent) and snap share (35 percent) weren't far off from season-long norms, but Zaccheaus uncharacteristically finished without a target. His target rate for the season is still at a lofty 26 percent, just without the consistent playing time for it to really matter outside of the deepest fantasy leagues. Zaccheaus is this unlikely to put up a big stat line Week 9 at the Giants.

Catches hail mary Brown caught three of six targets for 73 yards and a touchdown in an 18-15 win over the Bears on Sunday.
Impact Brown had a quiet afternoon until he caught a tipped pass for a 52-yard, game-winning TD on the final snap of the game, but there were some positive signs even before the miraculous play, namely season highs for snap share (82 percent) and route share (85 percent). He's been targeted on 21 percent of his routes this season while typically operating as Washington's No. 2 receiver, only with Olamide Zaccheaus and/or Dyami Brown poaching a bunch of routes and snap each week. If the added playing time wasn't just a one-week blip, Brown could emerge as a low-end fantasy starter in the second half of the season, starting with a Week 9 road game against the Giants.
