Not playing Sunday Johnson (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's contest versus the Raiders, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Impact After Johnson took the field for 43 percent of Houston's offensive snaps Week 5 against Jacksonville, the Texans have elected to sit him Sunday following their Week 6 bye. Johnson has yet to see a target in two appearances this season.
OCTOBER 23, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Third highest WR snap count Johnson was not targeted over 25 snaps in Week 5's 13-6 win over the Jaguars.
Impact Johnson was active for the second consecutive week and was handed the third-highest snap count among wideouts, moving ahead of Phillip Dorsett on the depth chart. He took the role that would normally go to the inactive Chris Moore (hip). If the Texans don't have to pass, they won't, so targets among the position group are scarce and usually go to Brandin Cooks or Nico Collins.
OCTOBER 12, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Active for Week 4 Johnson is active for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.
Impact Johnson has not suited up for a game this season, but he will have a chance to see action Sunday for the first time since being claimed off waivers from the Buccaneers in late August. Johnson will be one of five active Texans receivers, so it's unlikely he will fill a key role even if he does get on the field.

Two catches Saturday Johnson brought in both targets for 24 yards in the Buccaneers' 13-3 preseason loss to the Titans on Saturday night.
Impact Johnson co-led the Bucs in receptions on the night despite his modest total, the second time in as many exhibitions he's been at the top of the leaderboard in that department. His roster spot is secure, but it's still encouraging to see him generate serviceable production relative to playing time and inconsistent quarterback play.
AUGUST 22, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Paces pass catchers in opener Johnson brought in six of seven targets for 73 yards in the Buccaneers' 26-24 preseason loss to the Dolphins on Saturday night.
Impact Johnson led the Buccaneers in receptions, receiving yards and targets on a night when none of Mike Evans (hamstring), Chris Godwin (knee), Julio Jones (coach's decision) and Russell Gage (leg) saw the field. The third-year wideout made a notable statement in his bid to lock down a spot in the latter half of the Buccaneers' wide receiver depth chart and should continue to log plenty of snaps again in next Saturday night's road exhibition matchup versus the Titans.
AUGUST 14, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Impressing early in camp Johnson, who's been a full participant in training camp after finishing last season's postseason run with a rib injury, has made a strong impression in his bid for the No. 5 receiv...
Impact Auman notes Johnson has particularly impressed with catches over the middle in 7-on-7 and full-squad drills. The third-year pro has acquitted himself relatively well in limited opportunity over his first two seasons, taking advantage of injuries in the Buccaneers' receiving corps at times on his way to generating a 48-529-2 line on 72 targets across 31 games. With Tampa Bay's top four wideouts set, Johnson is battling several candidates, including capable holdovers Breshad Perriman and Scotty Miller, for a spot on the back end of the positional depth chart this summer.

Is It Time For Buccaneers to Move On From WR Tyler Johnson? Would trading the receiver do better for the team than keeping him another season?
JUNE 20, 2022 • STAR-TELEGRAM.COM
Outlook muddled by signings Johnson (ribs) will have to compete with free-agent signee Russell Gage and the returning Breshad Perriman (abdomen) for snaps behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin (knee) in 2022, Sc...
Impact Johnson posted seven tallies of at least three receptions during the 2021 season and added another five grabs during the Buccaneers' two-game playoff run. The second-year wideout undoubtedly made strides while logging 38 more targets and 328 more snaps than in his rookie 2020 campaign, but the signing of Gage gives him some more experienced competition. The former Falcons wideout produced a 138-1,556-8 line across the last two seasons alone, and in addition to Gage, Johnson also will have to deal with the presence of Perriman, who has experience in the offense and brings some coveted deep speed. Godwin's likely absence early in the season will give Johnson a clearer path to meaningful snaps no matter where he ends up in the pecking order, but he'll have to make a notable impact to ensure that remains the norm once his teammate is healthy.
APRIL 4, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Picks up rib injury Johnson sustained a rib injury during Sunday's divisional-round game against the Rams, Carmen Vitali of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Impact Before he exited in the second half, Johnson gathered in three of six targets for 15 yards. With the second-year wide receiver sidelined, Cyril Grayson (hamstring) and Breshad Perriman (hip) inactive and Chris Godwin (knee) on injured reserve, the Buccaneers are down to Mike Evans, Scotty Miller and John Brown at the position.
JANUARY 23, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Two catches in playoff opener Johnson corralled two of three targets for 30 yards Sunday in the Buccaneers' 31-15 win over the Eagles in the wild-card round.
Impact Johnson should be locked into a regular role in three-receiver sets for the rest of the postseason, but the second-year wideout is a clear tertiary option in the passing game behind Mike Evans and Rob Gronkowski at this stage. If Cyril Grayson (hamstring) is able to make it back for the divisional round, Johnson's path to consistent targets could become more blocked.
JANUARY 17, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Modest receiving yardage in finale Johnson secured five of seven targets for 22 yards in the Buccaneers' 41-17 win over the Panthers on Sunday.
Impact The second-year wideout was certainly busy, tying with Mike Evans for second on the team in targets behind Rob Gronkowski. However, Johnson averaged just 4.4 yards per catch, leading to a decidedly underwhelming fantasy day. Despite the modest output, it's worth noting Johnson logged one more target and as many catches veteran Breshad Perriman, so he should be expected to enjoy a solid role in the air attack once again versus the Eagles in Sunday's wild-card matchup.
JANUARY 11, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Four grabs in win Johnson brought in four of six targets for 50 yards in the Buccaneers' 28-24 win over the Jets on Sunday.
Impact Johnson logged 49 snaps (66%) from scrimmage and put together a solid line overall after not seeing any passes come his way across 36 snaps in the Week 16 win over the Panthers a week earlier. The second-year wideout is set to serve as no less than the No. 3 receiver for Week 18 and the postseason, as Antonio Brown's forthcoming release from the team removes another obstacle for playing time. Additionally, given Johnson outpaced veteran Breshad Perriman by 38 snaps Sunday, it's possible the former garners a starting opportunity alongside Mike Evans for at least the regular-season finale against the Panthers.
JANUARY 4, 2022 • ROTOWIRE
Blanked in Week 16 Johnson logged 36 snaps from scrimmage but did not see a target during the Buccaneers' 32-6 win over the Panthers on Sunday.
Impact Johnson didn't see a single one of Tom Brady's 30 throws despite the absence of multiple pass-catching options for the Bucs. It's difficult to gauge what his prospects might be in Week 17 against the Jets, a contest that Mike Evans may also have to sit out due to his placement in the COVID-19 protocols Monday.
DECEMBER 28, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Set to fill in for Godwin Johnson is expected to serve as the primary replacement for Chris Godwin (knee) in Sunday's game against the Panthers, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.
Impact Tampa Bay will get Antonio Brown back from a lengthy absence due to an ankle sprain and a suspension, but the losses of Godwin for the season and Mike Evans (hamstring) for at least Week 16 should open up more snaps at receiver for the likes of Johnson, Scotty Miller and Justin Watson. Considering Johnson had already been playing 60-plus percent of the Bucs' offensive snaps in all but one of the team's last eight games, he's likely a better bet than Miller and Watson to absorb the larger portion of Godwin's and Evans' vacated targets. Johnson had already stepped up when the two starting wideouts exited early in last week's 9-0 loss to the Saints, finishing with four receptions for 41 yards on seven targets.

Mike Evans Injury Update Boosts Antonio Brown and Tyler Johnson Fantasy Outlook Ahead of Week 16 Mike Evans latest injury update boosts Antonio Brown and Tyler Johnson's fantasy outlooks ahead of Week 16.
DECEMBER 24, 2021 • FANDUEL.COM
Steps up for injured starters Johnson had four receptions (seven targets) for 41 yards in Sunday's 9-0 loss to New Orleans.
Impact The Buccaneers lost wideouts Mike Evans (hamstring) and Chris Godwin (knee) early in this contest, opening the door for Johnson to see an expanded role in the passing game. The 2020 fifth-round draft pick had seen 60 percent or more of the offensive snaps in six of the Bucs' last seven contests, but he averaged just 2.3 receptions and 19.6 yards per game over that stretch of games. Johnson and fellow wideout Scotty Miller (2-18-0) may see increased usage against the Panthers next Sunday if Evans and/or Godwin are unable to suit up.

DECEMBER 20, 2021 • NFL.COM
Three grabs over 49 snaps Johnson secured all three targets for 17 yards in the Buccaneers' 33-27 overtime win over the Bills on Sunday.
Impact A week after logging just nine snaps in a win over the Falcons, Johnson bumped all the way up to 49 plays from scrimmage, easily the highest total among the wideouts behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Johnson parlayed the opportunity into his best catch total since Week 10, but his modest yardage total still made it a forgettable fantasy day overall. With Scotty Miller a healthy scratch Sunday, Johnson appears to be firmly ahead of the Bowling Green product on the depth chart and could continue as the No. 3 wideout for a Week 15 divisional clash against the Saints, although there's always the possibility Breshad Perriman eats into his opportunities.
DECEMBER 14, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
One grab in Week 13 win Johnson brought in his only target for five yards in the Buccaneers' 30-17 win over the Falcons on Sunday.
Impact Johnson logged only nine snaps from scrimmage, placing him second among the Bucs wide receivers behind Chris Godwin and Mike Evans. The fact he outpaced Scotty Miller by five plays would seem to indicate Johnson still is ahead of him on the depth chart as the de facto No. 4 receiver while Antonio Brown (suspension/ankle) is out, but with Breshad Perriman recording just one reception across 59 snaps himself Sunday in the No. 3 role, it's possible Johnson ascends back into that spot.
DECEMBER 7, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Another one-catch tally Johnson secured his only target for nine yards in the Buccaneers' 38-31 win over the Colts on Sunday.
Impact He logged a robust 48 snaps despite Scotty Miller's return from injured reserve, but Johnson once again came up nearly empty while filling the No. 3 receiver role in place of Antonio Brown (ankle). The second-year wideout appears destined to take a hit to his playing time as soon as a Week 13 road battle against the Falcons, either because of Miller eating into his snaps or Brown returning to action.
NOVEMBER 30, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Held to one catch in win Johnson brought in one of three targets for eight yards in the Buccaneers' 30-10 win over the Giants on Monday night.
Impact Johnson was quiet despite the continued absence of Antonio Brown (ankle), and his sparse targets were discouraging considering he logged a healthy 73 percent snap share (57 snaps). The second-year wideout has enjoyed occasional spikes in production, but he'll head into a Week 12 matchup against the Colts with just a 4-25 line over his last pair of contests.
NOVEMBER 24, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Three catches in defeat Johnson secured three of five targets for 17 yards in the Buccaneers' 29-19 loss to Washington on Sunday.
Impact The second-year wideout once again filled the No. 3 receiver role with Antonio Brown (ankle) out of action and logged 33 snaps (69 percent) from scrimmage. Johnson was able to parlay that opportunity into his third straight multi-reception game, but he's been under 20 yards in two of those contests. If Brown remains out for the Week 11 Monday night contest against the Giants, Johnson should operate in a similar capacity.
NOVEMBER 16, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Solid effort in divisional loss Johnson secured five of six targets for 65 yards in the Buccaneers' 36-27 loss to the Saints on Sunday.
Impact The second-year wideout drew his second straight assignment as the No. 3 receiver with Antonio Brown (ankle) sidelined, and Johnson was notably busier than while filling the same role in a Week 7 blowout win over the Bears. Johnson checked in second in receptions, receiving yards and targets on the afternoon behind Chris Godwin while extending a recent trend of snagging almost every ball thrown his way. Factoring in Sunday's performance, Johnson has now hauled in 10 of the 11 targets he's garnered over the last four contests, and he's arguably made a claim to at least hold off Scotty Miller (IR-toe) for No. 4 receiver snaps when the latter and Brown both likely return following the team's Week 9 bye.
