Signed by Gang Green The Jets signed Johnson to a one-year contract Saturday, Al Iannazzone of Newsday reports.
Impact Johnson saw modest numbers as a backup with the Rams in 2024, finishing with 26 catches (on 41 tarets) for 291 yards and one touchdown across 15 regular-season games. However, he was not active for the Rams' two playoff games, and he'll look to get more involved in the Jets' passing attack alongside Garrett Wilson.

Modest numbers as a backup Johnson caught 26 passes for 291 yards and a touchdown during the 2024 regular season.
Impact Given the Rams' injury woes for much of the season, Johnson's second season with the team bore more fruit, as he was on the field for 345 snaps on offense and held his own when pressed into significant action, including a 5-79-0 line in the Week 1 opener against the Lions. The Rams have a lot of questions in the offseason at wide receiver, with Cooper Kupp a candidate for trade or release and Demarcus Robinson, Tutu Atwell and Johnson all unrestricted free agents, but Johnson's budding role may entice the Rams to give him another shot to work alongside Puka Nacua, Jordan Whittington and Xavier Smith.

Healthy scratch in divisional round Johnson (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's NFC divisional-round game against the Eagles.
Impact Johnson was also a healthy scratch for Monday's 27-9 wild-card win over the Vikings. The 2020 fifth-round pick saw significant playing time earlier in the year when wideouts Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua were injured. But, he caught just five passes over the final eight weeks of the regular season, and four of these receptions came in the regular-season finale when the Rams rested Kupp and Nacua. With Johnson sidelined, Nacua, Kupp, Demarcus Robinson, Tutu Atwell, Jordan Whittington and Xavier Smith will serve as the active wideouts for Los Angeles on Sunday.
JANUARY 19 • ROTOWIRE
Not playing in wild-card round Johnson (coach's decision) is inactive for Monday's NFC wild-card game against the Vikings, Cameron DaSilva of USA Today reports.
Impact Johnson tied a season high with 49 offensive snap during the Rams' regular-season finale against the Seahawks due to both Pakua Nacua and Cooper Kupp being sidelined for rest purposes, and Johnson finished the game with four catches (on seven targets) for 35 yards and one touchdown. Johnson will observe Monday's game in street clothes, though he could be active for the Rams' divisional-round game if they beat the Vikings.
JANUARY 14 • ROTOWIRE
Inactive for Week 16 Johnson (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jets, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.
Impact Johnson has been held without a catch in each of the Rams' last three games, and he will observe Sunday's game from the sidelines. His next opportunity to play will be Week 17 against the Cardinals on Saturday, Dec. 28. Demarcus Robinson, Tutu Atwell and Jordan Whittington will serve as the Rams' depth wideouts behind Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp due to Johnson's absence.
DECEMBER 22, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Goes catchless in third straight game Johnson went without a target while playing five of the Rams' 65 snaps on offense in Thursday's 12-6 win over the 49ers.
Impact Johnson has failed to record a reception in the Rams' last three games and has gone without a target in the last two contests. The 26-year-old finished sixth among Los Angeles receivers in snaps in Week 15, trailing Cooper Kupp (55), Demarcus Robinson (51), Puka Nacua (50), Tutu Atwell (20) and Jordan Whittington (10).

DECEMBER 18, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Makes 11-yard catch Johnson caught his only target for 11 yards during Sunday's 37-20 loss to the Eagles.
Impact The veteran's only contribution for the team was a fourth-quarter grab that garnered a first down for the Rams. Johnson and Tutu Atwell were the only receivers to spell starters Puka Nacua, Cooper Kupp and Demarcus Robinson, and that role seems unlikely to change even with a tantalizing matchup against an exploitable Saints defense on tap for Week 13.
NOVEMBER 25, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Blanked for third time this season Johnson failed to record a catch during Sunday's 28-22 win against the Patriots.
Impact Johnson was on the field for a season-low seven snaps, and his usage puts him clearly in the backup tier along with Tutu Atwell and Jordan Whittington. Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp combined to put up a monster 13-229-3 line, and Demarcus Robinson continued his role as the tertiary target at wideout. Johnson's role is unlikely to change barring injury, and a difficult matchup against the Eagles lies in wait in Week 12.
NOVEMBER 18, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Garners three catches in light use Johnson secured three of four targets for 25 yards during Sunday's 23-15 loss to the Dolphins.
Impact Johnson earned the most targets and catches out of the backup group of receivers, alongside Tutu Atwell (one catch for six yards) and Jordan Whittington (zero targets). While Johnson has proven to be a reliable target for Matthew Stafford when needed this season, his ten snaps tied a season-low, and he'll be hard to trust in rosters given his reduced time on the field. A Patriots defense that just held the Bears to 120 receiving yards is up next for the Rams in Week 11.
NOVEMBER 12, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Garners five targets in OT win Johnson finished with three receptions (five targets) for 38 yards in Sunday's 26-20 win over the Seahawks.
Impact Johnson finished third in targets for the Rams following Puka Nacua's early ejection. The added time from the extra period helped the former reach 38 receiving yards following last week's one-catch performance against Minnesota. With the Rams' receiving crew back at full strength, Johnson's fantasy value takes a hit heading into next Monday's tilt versus Miami.
NOVEMBER 4, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Manages just one catch Johnson secured his lone target for six yards during Thursday's 30-20 victory against the Vikings.
Impact As expected, the return of Puka Nacua (knee) and Cooper Kupp (ankle) limited Johnson's role on the offense, although he notably had significantly more playing time than Tutu Atwell and Xavier Smith. With the Rams' pass-catching crew approaching full strength for the first time since the start of the season, Johnson's role will likely continue to deteriorate with Jordan Whittington (shoulder) also soon to return. Week 9's showdown with the division-leading Seahawks will be the next test for the veteran wideout.
OCTOBER 25, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Leads team in receiving yardage Johnson secured four of seven targets for 57 yards during Sunday's 20-15 victory against the Raiders.
Impact With Jordan Whittington (shoulder) limited to a handful of snaps on offense, Johnson took over and saw his biggest usage on offense since Week 2. The biggest contribution from the veteran was a game-high 37-yard catch on third down that unfortunately led to no points after Joshua Karty missed a field goal attempt. The uptick in usage is likely to be short-lived, however, with Whittington and Cooper Kupp (ankle) likely to rejoin the Rams' wideout ranks in Week 8, which will likely push Johnson back down the depth chart.
OCTOBER 21, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Invisible in loss Johnson failed to record a target and played 11 snaps on offense during Sunday's 24-19 loss to the Packers.
Impact For the first time this season, Johnson was completely blanked on the stat sheet, a week after failing to secure his lone target in a loss to the Bears. Even with Cooper Kupp (ankle) and Puka Nacua (knee) out, Johnson's role has steadily reduced as Demarcus Robinson, Tutu Atwell and Jordan Whittington have commanded the majority of Matthew Stafford's attention among wideouts. With Kupp potentially returning after the Rams' Week 6 bye and Nacua returning shortly after, Johnson's already limited role will likely continue to be reduced down in the coming weeks.

OCTOBER 7, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Nabs three catches Sunday Johnson brought in three of four targets for 20 yards in Sunday's 27-24 win over the 49ers.
Impact The fourth-year backup recorded his second game with 20 yards receiving since being elevated to help replace Puka Nacua (knee) and Cooper Kupp (ankle) in the starting lineup. Johnson still lacks the upside needed to warrant starting in standard formats, but he is certainly a name to worth monitoring heading into a Week 4 matchup against the Bears.
SEPTEMBER 23, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Ready for starting gig Johnson and the Rams' other wide receivers are preparing for larger roles with Puka Nacua (knee) on injured reserve and Cooper Kupp (ankle) expected to miss multiple games, Stu Jac...
Impact Apart from garbage time in this past Sunday's blowout loss, Johnson has played nearly every snap on offense since Nacua injured his knee in the second quarter of the Rams' Week 1 contest. Johnson finished the opener with five catches for 79 yards on seven targets, before slumping to two catches for 20 yards (three targets) in the Week 2 loss at Arizona. He now appears locked in as a starter for at least the next few games, alongside Demarcus Robinson and Jordan Whittington / Tutu Atwell. A matchup with the 49ers this Sunday isn't ideal, and the Rams offense faces the added challenge of losing two starting linemen to injured reserve already.
SEPTEMBER 18, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Makes pair of catches Johnson secured two of three targets for 20 yards during Sunday's 41-10 loss to the Cardinals.
Impact While Johnson's stats dipped after a strong Week 1 performance (five receptions, 79 yards), Cooper Kupp (ankle) was spotted in a walking boot after the game. With Puka Nacua (knee) already on injured reserve, Johnson, along with Demarcus Robinson, Jordan Whittington and Tutu Atwell, are now the only healthy receivers currently rostered by the Rams. If Kupp were to miss time, Robinson and Johnson would likely take over as the top two receivers given their usage through the first two contests, with Whittington and Atwell the next men up.
SEPTEMBER 16, 2024 • ROTOWIRE
Opportunity knocks with Nacua on IR Johnson has a chance to sustain a larger role moving forward after Puka Nacua (knee) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.
Impact Johnson finished second on the team with 79 receiving yards in Sunday's 26-20 overtime loss to the Lions, and his seven targets tied Demarcus Robinson for second on the team behind Cooper Kupp's 21. That trio of wide receivers will likely continue to receive significant playing time in the absence of Nacua, as was the case after halftime in Detroit.
