Not playing Week 7
Marshall (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Giants, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.
Impact
After he was diagnosed with a concussion coming out of the Panthers' Week 6 loss to the Vikings, Marshall was unable to practice in any capacity Wednesday through Friday. As a result, the Panthers' decision to rule Marshall out for the Week 7 matchup comes as little surprise. With Marshall sidelined for the first time this season and Alex Erickson (concussion) listed as questionable but uncertain to play Sunday, rookie Shi Smith could have a regular spot in three-wide sets alongside DJ Moore and Robby Anderson.

Absent from practice again
Marshall (concussion) didn't practice Thursday.
Impact
With no practice activity since he was diagnosed with a concussion following Sunday's loss to the Vikings, Marshall doesn't appear to have taken a notable step forward in the NFL's five-step protocol for head injuries. Unless he returns to the field in some capacity for Friday's practice, Marshall looks on track to sit out this weekend's game against the Giants.

Sits out Wednesday
Marshall (concussion) didn't practice Wednesday.
Impact
It's no surprise Marshall hasn't cleared the necessary steps in the NFL's protocol for head injuries after taking a big hit from Vikings safety Xavier Woods this past Sunday. Marshall has had a slow start to his NFL career despite seeing at least 50 percent of the Panthers' offensive snaps in five of six games, hauling in 14 of 22 targets for 116 yards and no TDs. With Marshall and fellow wide receiver Alex Erickson diagnosed with concussions, the Panthers are left with Shi Smith at the position on the active roster behind starters DJ Moore and Robby Anderson.

In concussion protocol
Marshall sustained a concussion during Sunday's game against the Vikings, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
Impact
Marshall was the recipient of a brutal hit from safety Xavier Woods in the second quarter, drawing an unnecessary roughness penalty in the process. The rookie second-round pick remained on the turf for minutes before making his way to the sideline, and he'll officially finish Week 6 with one catch (on two targets) for nine yards. Alex Erickson and Shi Smith will be the candidates to get work as the Panthers' third receiver behind DJ Moore and Robby Anderson as long as Marshall is in the concussion protocol and Brandon Zylstra deals with a hamstring injury.

Only two catches
Marshall caught two of three targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 21-18 loss to the Eagles.
Impact
Marshall sports just 16 receiving yards over Carolina's last two games, with quarterback Sam Darnold's struggles Sunday not helping out any of his receiving options. The rookie will hope the potential return of superstar Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) in Week 6 will help elevate the whole offense versus the Vikings.

Only one catch
Marshall caught one of three targets for two yards in Sunday's 36-28 loss to the Cowboys.
Impact
Marshall played over 70 percent of Carolina's offensive snaps, yet hardly got involved in the passing game. The rookie second-rounder is still hunting for his first touchdown and hasn't topped 50 yards in a game yet either, but Marshall's role alongside DJ Moore and Robby Anderson at least gives him upside as a complementary option.

Makes four grabs
Marshall caught four of five targets for 48 yards in Thursday night's 24-9 win over the Texans.
Impact
Marshall made a good impact on crossing routes, trailing only DJ Moore in all major receiving categories for the Panthers. The rookie second-rounder is yet to have his breakout game, but Marshall was remained steadily involved in Carolina's first three outings. In fact, with 10 catches, he actually sports twice as many grabs as teammate Robby Anderson. In Week 4 versus the Cowboys, Marshall will strive to continue his momentum while finding the end zone for the first time.

Another three-catch outing
Marshall caught all three of his targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 26-7 win over the Saints.
Impact
Marshall has hauled in three passes in both of his appearances as a pro, managing only modest yardage from his looks so far. On the bright side, the rookie played just over half of Carolina's offensive snaps Sunday, so he'll hope similar involvement enables him make a breakthrough in this Thursday's matchup against the Texans.

Makes three grabs in debut
Marshall caught three of six targets for 26 yards in Sunday's 19-14 win over the Jets.
Impact
Marshall's regular-season debut saw him trail only Christian McCaffrey and DJ Moore in targets, including a couple looks in the red zone. The second-rounder's final stats weren't overly impressive, but after a standout preseason, it's good to see Marshall remain regularly involved now that the games matter. Although fellow wideout Robby Anderson will surely garner more than Sunday's three targets in most games, Marshall's status as Carolina's third wideout gives him decent value going into Week 2's divisional matchup versus the Saints.

Finds end zone
Marshall recorded three receptions on four targets for 43 yards and a touchdown in Friday's preseason game against the Steelers.
Impact
Marshall was on the field with the team's top offensive unit, drawing targets while playing alongside DJ Moore and Robby Anderson. While both Moore and Anderson saw the majority of their targets near the line of scrimmage, Marshall was targeted deep on a number of occasions -- one of which he converted into a 24-yard reception. Marshall also found the end zone for the first time as a pro, taking a screen pass to the house from 13 yards away. He's contributed significantly in each of the team's preseason games, which could line him up to make an immediate impact in Week 1 of the regular season against the Jets.

Another fruitful outing
Marshall gathered in all three targets for 50 yards during Saturday's preseason defeat to the Ravens.
Impact
Marshall made the most of his looks from reserve quarterback Will Grier, including a 34-yard grab down the right sideline to kick off the second quarter. With D.J. Moore not available Saturday due to back tightness, Marshall got some work early, and David Moore, his primary competition for the No. 3 WR role, wasn't targeted while returning one punt for nine yards. A rookie second-round pick, Marshall has been as advertised through two exhibitions, averaging 23 YPC and 17.3 YPT on his six receptions and eight targets to date.

Leading position battle
Marshall is the early favorite to become the Panthers' No. 3 wide receiver, Joseph Person of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Marshall sat out most of Carolina's offseason activities to ensure he'd be healthy for training camp, and the rookie second-rounder has proceeded to hit the ground running. Already familiar with coordinator Joe Brady's scheme from their time at LSU, Marshall also has impressed with his hands in practice, where head coach Matt Rhule said, "We're trying to force-feed Terrace and bring him along as fast as we can." Given that admission, it seems likely Marshall will be the Panthers' third-choice wideout behind DJ Moore and Robby Anderson before long, making him a higher priority than veteran signing David Moore.

Impact
The rookie second-round pick is off to a good start through two days of training camp, perhaps building his case for the No. 3 spot at wide receiver. The Panthers did sign David Moore away from Seattle this offseason, and it shouldn't come as any surprise if the veteran gets more work with the first-team offense this summer.
