Targeted eight times Seals-Jones caught five of eight targets for 41 yards in Sunday's 33-22 loss to New Orleans.
Impact Seals-Jones played 82 of Washington's 83 offensive snaps, directly replacing an injured Logan Thomas (hamstring), who also will be out for Weeks 6 and 7 at a minimum. While his production Sunday was modest, Seals-Jones has the necessary workload and athleticism to maintain fantasy relevance at tight end for the time being. He'll take on a struggling Kansas City defense in Week 6, with some potential for extra targets if Washington continues to struggle with injuries at wide receiver.

Tabbed to replace Logan Thomas Washington offensive coordinator Scott Turner confirmed that Seals-Jones will enter the starting lineup Sunday against the Saints after top tight end Logan Thomas (hamstring) was p...
Impact After Thomas exited in the first quarter of last week's win over Atlanta, Seals-Jones stepped in and handled a three-down role for Washington. Seals-Jones played 92 percent of the offensive snaps in the win, pulling in two of his four targets for 19 yards. Thomas' absence for at least the next three weeks will create an opening for Seals-Jones to take on heavy snap counts, and he could see more target volume headed his way against New Orleans if wideouts Curtis Samuel (groin), and Dyami Brown (knee) are unable to play. Meanwhile, rookie John Bates will rise to second on the depth chart at tight end while Thomas is out, but Bates isn't expected to push for a major role after logging just 18 combined offensive snaps through Washington's first four games.

FANTASY PLAYS: Players to start and sit for NFL Week 5

Takes on three-down role Seals-Jones replaced an injured Logan Thomas (hamstring) in Sunday's 34-30 win over Atlanta, catching two of four targets for 19 yards while playing a career-high 93 percent of sna...
Impact Seals-Jones was used as a direct replacement for the injured starter, taking on an every-down role while rookie John Bates merely handled his usual work as the backup and blocking specialist. While it didn't lead to production, Seals-Jones could have a degree of fantasy value if he handles the same role when Washington faces New Orleans in Week 5. The 26-year-old figures to be one of the more popular waiver adds at TE this week.

Catches TD on only target Seals-Jones caught his lone target for a 19-yard touchdown in Thursday's 30-29 win over the Giants.
Impact The college wideout turned NFL tight end has bounced around the league the past few years, playing for Arizona, Cleveland, Kansas City and now Washington. His struggles to earn regular snaps aren't likely to end on a team with Logan Thomas at tight end, but Seals-Jones did show that he can still make big plays, outleaping a defender for a surprise fourth-quarter TD on Thursday. There is some potential for fantasy value if Thomas were to miss time, though in such a scenario Seal-Jones might be forced into a committee rather than taking over the starter's three-down role.

There were nearly 34,000 offensive plays run in the NFL last season and exactly 11 that included four tight ends, but the Chiefs could reach that number all by themselves

Back on the field Seals-Jones (leg) resumed practicing Monday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
Impact Seals-Jones suffered a leg contusion during practice last week, but he's already recovered enough to resume participating in on-field drills. Count on Seals-Jones to resume competing for a depth gig behind top tight end Logan Thomas.
AUGUST 2, 2021 • ROTOWIRE
Suffers mid-practice injury Seals-Jones exited Thursday's practice session early due to an apparent right leg injury, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Seals-Jones was helped off the field by trainers, and he was only able to walk gingerly. The 26-year-old tight end has an opportunity to earn a key depth role behind Logan Thomas in Washington, but those chances could dry up if he's forced to miss a significant portion of training camp.

MAY 26, 2021 • USATODAY.COM
Lands in Washington Seals-Jones has signed a contract with Washington, Adam Schefter of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Washington doesn't have much prominent depth at tight end behind Logan Thomas, so Seals-Jones will certainly have a shot to earn a roster spot in camp. Seals-Jones failed to record a catch over two appearances with the Chiefs last season but caught at least 12 passes in each of the previous three campaigns, split between Arizona and Cleveland.

Joins active roster Seals-Jones has been promoted from Kansas City's practice squad to the team's active roster.
Impact With Deon Yelder (groin) now on IR as Sunday's playoff game against the Browns approaches, Seals-Jones will serve as the team's No. 3 tight end behind Travis Kelce and Nick Keizer.

Joins practice squad Seals-Jones was signed to the Chiefs' practice squad Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Impact The Chiefs have now signed Seals-Jones to the practice squad once again, but it is unlikely the tight end will see active status. Through his two games this season, the 25-year-old has played just six offensive snaps and five special teams snaps.

Released by KC Seals-Jones was released by the Chiefs on Saturday.
