Impact Ward injured his ankle after a healthy workload in the opening preseason matchup against the Cowboys, but the rotational back was able to make a return Friday. Clyde Edwards-Helaire - Likely avoids high ankle issue Coach Andy Reid relayed that the injury Edwards-Helaire suffered Friday night against the Cardinals "doesn't look like a high-ankle sprain," Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact Reid added that the running back will have his right ankle double-checked, but for now it looks like Edwards-Helaire has avoided the more troublesome high-ankle variety of sprain. That said, Kansas City could elect to play it safe with their top back in the team's preseason finale this coming Friday, with an eye toward having Edwards-Helaire healthy for Week 1.
