Given the struggles of the Jets offense to consistently produce touchdowns on a weekly basis, having a reliable option in the kicking game is essential, and Ammendola's 69 percent success rate on field-goal attempts isn't getting the job done. Unfortunately for the 24-year-old rookie, he doesn't have an NFL track record to fall back on, which could make it easier for the Jets to pull the plug on him than if he were a struggling veteran.
