Impact Since Chase Edmonds went down early with a high-ankle sprain in a Week 9 win at San Francisco, Conner has averaged 21.8 touches for 114.4 yards from scrimmage per game while scoring eight total TDs over five contests. Conner's workload has ranged between 76 and 96 percent of offensive plays during that span as the Cardinals' unquestioned lead back, but he also sustained an ankle injury while getting tackled near the conclusion of Monday's loss to the Rams, per Darren Urban of the team's official site. Arizona designated Edmonds for return from injured reserve last Thursday, so the Cards could be status quo in the backfield as early as Sunday in Detroit if he's activated and Conner is able to gut out his current health concern.

Impact In the wake of another productive performance in Monday's loss to the Rams, Conner emerged from the contest with an ankle injury that necessitated an MRI. According to Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site, head coach Kliff Kingsbury termed Conner "day-to-day" earlier Wednesday, but the running back proceeded to focus on rehab over on-field work in the first session of Week 15 prep. Conner has two more chances to mix into drills this week, but if he's available Sunday in Detroit, he could be joined in the backfield by Chase Edmonds (ankle), whom the team designated for return from injured reserve last week.

Meanwhile, top wideout DeAndre Hopkins (leg) is set to receive a second opinion on his injury after receiving an MRI on Tuesday. Chase Edmonds (ankle) also looks like he might be ready to return from injured reserve this week, which would likely result in Conner ceding some passing-down work when both backs are available.

Impact Conner was largely bottled up in the running game, but he nonetheless turned in a fantastic performance, punishing defenders with his physicality, including on both of his touchdown runs, and making them miss on other occasions. Along with extending his touchdown streak to seven games, Conner also made an awesome, one-handed catch for the second straight outing, ultimately contributing toward career highs in receptions, targets and yards through the air. With 125 yards from scrimmage, he again capitalized on Chase Edmonds' (ankle) absence, and whether Edmonds is involved in Week 15 versus the Lions or not, Conner's matchup appears favorable.
