INJURIES

Back to practice Knox (calf/illness) returned to practice Thursday, Sal Capaccio of WGR Sports Radio 550 Buffalo reports.
Impact Knox's presence at practice means he must have cleared COVID-19 protocols after testing positive for the virus prior to Week 7. Before landing on the reserve/COVID-19 list, Knox sat out the Bills' Week 6 loss to the Chiefs with a calf issue, so his activity in practice will still need to be monitored before his status for Sunday's game against the Seahawks is confirmed. The Bills have received very little tight end production all season, and it's reached a low point with Knox out of the lineup.

Not practicing to start week Knox (calf/illness) isn't practicing Wednesday, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
Impact Knox remains on the reserve/COVID-19 list, though he'll be eligible for activation once 10 days have passed since his last negative test. The tight end was battling a calf injury at the time of his placement on the list, so he'll have multiple issues to heal up from before he's able to practice again. At this point, Knox looks unlikely to gain clearance for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.

Tests positive for COVID-19 Knox (calf) was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Saturday after testing positive, the Bills' official site reports.
Impact Knox was already going to miss Sunday's game against the Jets due to his calf injury, so perhaps the bigger issue is that the team's tight end room is almost completely depleted, as fellow tight ends Lee Smith, Tommy Sweeney (currently on PUP list), and practice squad player Nate Becker have been defined to have been in close contact with Knox. They have all been placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list and cannot take Knox's place in Sunday's game.

Will miss Week 7 Knox (calf) has been declared out for Sunday's game at the Jets, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Impact This was expected all along with Knox not practicing all week. Tyler Kroft will get a few extra looks in the passing game this week, while Knox will set his sights on a big Week 8 contest against the Patriots.

Misses Thursday's session Knox (calf) was unable to practice Thursday, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.
Impact Knox was ruled out pretty early ahead of Monday's game against the Chiefs and hasn't been able to practice in any capacity this week. Unless he's able to make a surprise return to practice Friday, expect him to be ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Jets.

Still not practicing Knox (calf) didn't practice Wednesday.
Impact Knox hasn't practiced since sustaining his calf injury in Week 5 against the TItans. He'll need to heal up in a hurry to have a chance to suit up Sunday against the Jets, with Tyler Kroft set to serve as Buffalo's top tight end should Knox sit out again.

Another DNP Knox (calf) did not practice for the second straight day Friday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Impact While the Bills' starting tight end has the benefit of an extra day this week given the Monday night matchup, his status is looking very much in doubt at this stage. Tyler Kroft isn't a bad pickup in deeper formats if Knox does get officially ruled out.

Misses practice Thursday Knox (calf) won't practice Thursday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Impact Knox was forced out of this past Tuesday's loss to the Titans, and his non-participation in Thursday's jog-through suggests that he's not a lock to play Monday against the Chiefs. If he's out or limited Week 6, Tyler Kroft would be in line to see added pass-catching opportunities versus Kansas City.

Injures calf Tuesday Knox was forced out of Tuesday's game versus the Titans with a calf injury.
Impact Knox left the game in the second half after catching one of three targets for 15 yards. Tyler Kroft should handle a hefty workload the rest of the game since he's the Bills' only remaining tight end.

3 things we learned from Bills tight end Dawson Knox on 'Bills Pod Squad' Kim Pegula and Maddy Glab talk with tight end Dawson Knox as he prepares to play in his hometown of Nashville this week.
OCTOBER 8, 2020 • BUFFALOBILLS.COM
Low production in return Knox caught two of three targets for 16 yards during Sunday's win in Las Vegas.
Impact Knox only played 48 percent of the offensive snaps after missing Week 3 with a concussion. Backup Tyler Kroft was on the field for 33 percent of those snaps and was also targeted three times, hauling in just one for 12 yards. Knox remains the starter and is the more talented player, but with Buffalo's wide receivers playing so well -- not to mention running back Devin Singletary's involvement in the passing game -- the tight end could be a hit-or-miss option for much of the season.
OCTOBER 6, 2020 • ROTOWIRE
Seemingly over concussion problem Knox (concussion) practiced fully for the second straight day Thursday.
Impact Knox missed last week's game against the Rams, but he looks like a good bet to resume his starting role this week against the Raiders. It's at least worth noting that Tyler Kroft caught two TD passes in Knox's absence in Week 3, so while Knox is still the starter and more athletic player, it may not be that easy for the Bills to take Kroft completely out of the game plan right away.
