Manages Giants to win
Jones completed 15 of 20 passes for 110 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's 23-16 win over the Raiders. He added four rushes for 17 yards.
Impact
The Giants relied heavily on their ground game by logging 31 rushing attempts as opposed to only 20 pass attempts. That deflated Jones' numbers, as did the fact that he averaged only 5.5 yards per attempt -- his second-lowest mark of the season. More positively, Jones managed to largely play mistake-free football, though he did lose his third fumble of the season. Also notable is the disappearance of Jones' rushing upside, as he's logged 20 yards or fewer with his legs in four of his last five games. He and the Giants have their bye in Week 10.

Comes up short
Jones completed 22 of 32 passes for 222 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Monday night's 20-17 loss to the Chiefs. He also rushed five times for 12 yards.
Impact
Jones began by throwing an interception from his 22-yard line on his first pass of the game, gifting the Chiefs another opportunity to score after the Giants defense had just made an interception in the end zone. Although the signal-caller eventually rebounded with a 50-yard completion to John Ross and a pair of red-zone touchdowns to tight ends Kyle Rudolph and Evan Engram, New York's undermanned offense couldn't move the ball consistently enough to win, with Jones taking a bad sack while trying to engineer a late comeback as well. As Jones now turns his attention toward a Raiders team coming off a bye, it'll be interesting to see who'll be healthy enough to comprise his supporting cast in Week 9.

Bounces back against Panthers
Jones completed 23 of 33 pass attempts for 203 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 25-3 win over the Panthers. He added eight rushes for 28 yards.
Impact
Jones was coming off of a disastrous four-turnover performance in Week 6, but he took care of the ball and led the Giants to victory Sunday. However, that still didn't lead to tremendous fantasy production, as he managed only 6.2 yards per attempt. In addition to limited yardage, Jones has only thrown for multiple touchdowns in a game only once this season. Jones continued to add some upside to his stat line with production on the ground, topping 25 rushing yards for the fourth time this season. He could be in a friendly game environment in Week 8 against the Chiefs.

Rough afternoon in Week 6 loss
Jones completed 29 of 51 passes for 242 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions in the Giants' 38-11 loss to the Rams on Sunday. He also threw a two-point conversion pass,...
Impact
Jones final yardage total was respectable enough, but it belied the degree of difficulty he endured throughout the afternoon. The embattled signal-caller was sacked four times and hit on seven occasions overall just a week after suffering a concussion against the Cowboys. Jones also saw his previously modest but tidy 4:1 TD:INT take a serious hit with Sunday's trio of picks, two of which led to Rams touchdowns. The fact Kenny Golladay (knee) and Darius Slayton (hamstring) were out Sunday and Kadarius Toney exited early with an aggravation of his ankle injury certainly didn't help matters, but Jones will look to bounce back with what is likely a short-handed crew to some extent in Week 7 against the Panthers at home.

Cleared by neurologist
Jones (concussion) has been cleared by a neurologist and doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Rams, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Jones will avoid a missed game, and he'll have Sterling Shepard back from a hamstring injury. On the other hand, Kenny Golladay (knee) and Saquon Barkley (ankle) have been ruled out, and four other potential starters are listed as questionable (WR Darius Slayton, WR Kadarius Toney, LT Andrew Thomas, LG Ben Bredeson). Dan Duggan of The Athletic suggests Toney is on track to play, whereas the other three appear truly questionable. Jones has a lot working against him this week, including the matchup against Aaron Donald and Co., though he has been playing much better in 2021 than he did in past seasons.

On track to play Sunday
Coach Joe Judge said Jones (concussion) is scheduled to be a full practice participant Friday and is expected to play Sunday against the Rams, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York...
Impact
Jones has yet to fully clear the concussion protocol, but it appears he's in its final stages and will practice Friday. The 24-year-old could still receive the questionable tag if he's unable to receive full clearance by the end of the day, but he may not end up missing any additional time after suffering the concussion last weekend in Dallas.

Limited Thursday
Jones (concussion) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Impact
Coach Joe Judge told Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com earlier Thursday that Jones would be capped to non-contact work, but the mere fact the quarterback already has progressed from no activity Wednesday to some one day later indicates progress through the NFL's protocol for head injuries. "At this point, everything looks positive," Judge added. Indeed, Jones handled the initial reps at Thursday's practice, but due to the fickle nature of concussions he'll likely need to increase his participation further Friday to put himself in a position to play Sunday against the Rams. If he's unable to go, Jones will yield QB duties to veteran Mike Glennon.

Progressing well through protocol
Giants head coach Joe Judge said Jones (concussion) will be a non-contact participant in Thursday's practice, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports. "At this point everything looks pos...
Impact
After sustaining the concussion in the Giants' Week 5 loss to the Cowboys, Jones was a non-participant in Wednesday's practice, but the fact that he was donning full pads and a helmet while throwing off to the side in the session was a positive sign that he was progressing through the five-step protocol. Jones' ability to take part in non-contact drills seemingly represents another step forward, though it's unclear if the quarterback's activity will translate to a "limited" listing on the Giants' official injury report. Mike Glennon will stay prepared to start Sunday against the Rams in the event Jones can't clear the protocol in time, but for the time being, the Giants appear optimistic that their top signal-caller will be available. If Jones suits up this weekend, Judge told Tom Rock of Newsday that the game plan wouldn't be altered to limit the quarterback's exposure to contact, so Jones should still have plenty of involvement as a runner.

Not practicing, not yet out Week 6
Giants head coach Joe Judge said Jones (concussion) won't practice Wednesday, but the quarterback is "on track with everything" in his recovery from the brain injury and hasn't yet...
Impact
Jones isn't believed to have an extensive history of concussions, but the one he suffered in last week's loss to the Cowboys looked fairly serious, as he struggled to get back on his feet after taking a helmet-to-helmet hit before being ruled out for the remainder of the contest. Though Judge was unwilling to dismiss the possibility of Jones clearing the five-step protocol before the weekend, the 24-year-old will likely need to make enough progress in his recovery to join his teammates on the field for practice in some capacity Thursday or Friday to have a legitimate shot at playing. On a positive note, Jones was at least in attendance for Wednesday's session in an observational role, with Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record noting that the signal-caller was donning a helmet and full pads while doing some throwing off to the side. Meanwhile, Mike Glennon is taking reps with the first-team offense Wednesday and would be in line to start if Jones is ruled out for Week 6.
