Held to 24 yards on SNF Goedert finished with two receptions on five targets for 24 yards in Sunday's 16-9 win over Detroit.

Impact Goedert was held in check in what turned out to be a defensive battle between NFC contenders on Sunday Night Football. The two receptions marked the 30-year-old's lowest total since his one-catch effort back in Week 2. The five targets were on par with the 4.3 the tight end averaged coming into the contest, hinting at Sunday's dud simply being a down game from Goedert. The Eagles will take on the Cowboys next Sunday, who Goedert recorded a 7-44-0 line against when the two teams met back in Week 1.

Brown (hamstring) remained sidelined but was seen working on the side Thursday, per Bob Brookover of NJ.com. Even if Brown ends up being active Sunday versus the Giants, Goedert could be a bit more featured in the Eagles offense if the former is at less than 100 percent. Goedert has taken full advantage of his 36 targets across six appearances this season, tallying 27 catches for 261 yards and five touchdowns to date.

Impact It's a new injury, though likely not a major one, with Goedert managing a limited practice on a day when four other starters were held out. WR A.J. Brown (hamstring) was one of those starters, which means Philadelphia's subsequent injury reports will need to be monitored. Brown didn't have much production in 2025 prior to Sunday's win over Minnesota, but he's leading the Eagles in targets again, with his 7.3 per game accounting for 27.4 percent of the team total. Goedert, meanwhile, has accounted for 21.7 percent of Philadelphia's targets in his six active games, averaging a career-high 6.0 targets per contest even after a quiet Week 7 with just 18 yards on three looks.

Impact Goedert was a distant third in receiving yards and saw only half the targets of the runner-up in that category, A.J. Brown. The veteran tight end has taken a more prominent role in the offense on certain weeks so far this season -- none more prominently than in Week 6 against the Giants (9-110-1) -- but Goedert is still a clear third cog behind DeVonta Smith and Brown and has 37 receiving yards or fewer in four of the last five games. Goedert gets another crack at the G-Men in a Week 8 home matchup next Sunday afternoon.
