Nursing first-degree sprain Carson's knee injury has been diagnosed as a first-degree sprain, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact Schefter also notes that Carson's injury is considered to have a 1-to-2 week recovery timetable, but the Seahawks will wait to evaluate him in practice before making a decision about the starting running back's Week 4 availability. If Carson isn't able to suit up in Miami this coming Sunday, Carlos Hyde stands to take over Seattle's lead backfield duties while Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas also work in.

Impact Carson left the field late in Sunday's win over the Cowboys after twisting his leg awkwardly, but he's apparently dodged any sort of major injury. That the 26-year-old has avoided any ligament damage is fortuitous news for Seattle, as is the prognosis that he could suit up at Miami in Week 4. Carson's chances of taking the field versus the Dolphins will likely come down to how much he's able to do in practice. Carlos Hyde would figure to take over as the Seahawks' lead back if Carson misses any time, with Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas available as change-of-pace options.

Impact Any worries about Carson's six-carry Week 1 can be dismissed, as the fourth-year pro handled 68 percent of the RB carries for the Seahawks in Week 2. He's been quite effective as a receiver, too, catching an end-zone target from Russell Wilson in the fourth quarter that went down as the winning score. Carlos Hyde and Travis Homer will continue to get some work in the backfield, but Carson is the unequivocal No. 1 RB and should be utilized in fantasy as such. Carson will have a tough test Week 3, however, as the Cowboys just held the Falcons' Todd Gurley to 2.9 yards per carry.

Snags two TDs in win Carson rushed six times for 21 yards and caught all six targets for 45 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 38-25 win over the Falcons.
Impact Carson actually finished with fewer rushing attempts than Carlos Hyde (seven), but it's Carson's pass-catching abilities that make him a three-down back. The bruiser scored twice through the air in the first quarter from three and 19 yards out. Hyde didn't receive a target and Travis Homer saw just two passes come his way. It's not entirely surprising that Carson wasn't given a full workload in his first game since recovering from a fractured hip, so given that Hyde didn't outproduce him on the ground, Carson should still be considered the unequivocal lead back in Week 2 versus the Patriots.

Impact Fann believes it's mostly coach speak but also notes that the workload split could be more even than the one between Carson and Rashaad Penny last year. Carson had nine games in 2019 with snap share above 75 percent, and some of the weeks with lighter workloads were related to fumbles (his seven were an NFL-high among non-QBs). Carson still has a shot at 20 touches, but it shouldn't be viewed as a lock by any means.
