Won't suit up in Week 10
Claypool (toe) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Lions, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Impact
Claypool suffered the toe injury in Monday's win over the Bears, and while an MRI alleviated initial fears that it could be season ending, he'll still sit out against Detroit. With Claypool sidelined, James Washington and Ray-Ray McCloud will take on larger roles behind No. 1 wide receiver Diontae Johnson. Luckily for the Steelers, they should have no trouble mitigating the impact of Claypool's absence by running their offense through workhorse running back Najee Harris against a Lions defense that has allowed 16 scrimmage touchdowns to running backs -- tied with the Jets for the most in the league.

Doesn't practice Thursday
Claypool (toe) didn't participate in Thursday's practice session, Dale Lolley of DKPittsburghSports.com reports.
Impact
Although Claypool's recent MRI revealed that he avoided a season-ending toe injury, he's now missed two consecutive practice sessions to begin the week. If the 23-year-old is unable to suit up for Sunday's game against the Lions, James Washington and Ray-Ray McCloud would likely see additional work.

Avoids serious toe injury
An MRI indicated that Claypool avoided a season-ending toe injury, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Impact
That said, Rapoport relays that the wideout, who didn't practice Wednesday, is considered day-to-day and may miss some time. If that's the case, James Washington and Ray-Ray McCloud would be in line to see added work alongside top wideout Diontae Johnson for any length of time Claypool might be sidelined.

Misses practice after MRI
Claypool (toe) didn't practice Wednesday, Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Impact
Claypool had an MRI on Tuesday after injuring his toe during Monday's 29-27 win over the Bears. If he can't make it back for Sunday's game against Detroit, the Steelers will be left with James Washington, Ray-Ray McCloud and Cody White behind go-to receiver Diontae Johnson.

Getting toe examined
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Claypool will undergo an MRI on Tuesday after suffering a toe injury in Monday's 29-27 win over the Bears, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' offic...
Impact
The second-year wideout wasn't on the field for the Steelers' final drive of the game but otherwise took on a full workload in the win, finishing the night with a 3-30-0 receiving line on five targets and carrying twice for 13 yards. The MRI should shed more light on the severity of Claypool's injury, but for now, his status for the Steelers' Week 10 game against the Lions is in question.

Impact
Claypool was noticeably absent from Pittsburgh's final drive of the game, though the location and extent of the injury are unclear at this point. Head coach Mike Tomlin stated after the game that Claypool was being evaluated after the contest and that the team would provide additional information Tuesday, per Pryor.

Catches four passes
Claypool caught four of five targets for 45 yards and had two carries for 16 yards during Sunday's 15-10 win at Cleveland.
Impact
Claypool had only two catches for 17 yards on seven targets in Week 6, but he showed a better rapport with QB Ben Roethlisberger coming out of the bye week. Still, it was another modest showing for the young wideout, who hasn't been significant factor in the passing game since catching five passes for 130 yards and a score in Week 5. Claypool will attempt to bounce back next weekend versus Chicago.

Returns to full session
Claypool (hamstring) returned to a full practice Thursday.
Impact
The wideout logged a limited session Wednesday, but Claypool's return to a full practice Thursday sets the stage for him to catch passes from QB Ben Roethlisberger on Sunday against the 4-3 Browns. Following the Steelers' bye week, Claypool will look to rebound from the 2-17-0 stat line (on seven targets) he recorded in the team's Week 6 win over the Seahawks. With JuJu Smith-Schuster (shoulder) out for the season, Claypool is entrenched in a starting role opposite Diontae Johnson that will yield him steady playing time and targets as long as he stays healthy.

Still dealing with hammy
Claypool (hamstring) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.
Impact
After missing Week 4 with the hamstring injury, Claypool put up a 5-130-1 receiving line on only 36 snaps in Week 5, then managed just 2-17-0 on a full workload (63 snaps, 84 percent) in Week 6. Now coming out of a Week 7 bye, he's apparently still dealing with the same injury but doesn't seem likely to miss Sunday's game against the Browns.

Struggles in OT win
Claypool (hamstring) had two receptions (seven targets) for 17 yards in Sunday's 23-20 win over the Seahawks.
Impact
Claypool was dealing with a hamstring injury coming into this contest, but he was cleared for action and seemed to be moving fine on the two occasions Ben Roethlisberger was actually able to connect with his wideout. The 23-year-old had been trending positively prior to this dud, posting 14 receptions, 226 yards and a touchdown over his previous two contests. We will write this off as rare poor outing, as Claypool is a strong fantasy asset moving forward with JuJu Smith-Schuster (shoulder) out for the rest of the year. The Steelers are heading into their bye week with a matchup against Cleveland on tap for Week 8.

Impact
Claypool followed the same pattern as last week, when he upgraded to full participation Friday after a limited practice session Thursday. He produced 130 yards and a touchdown against the Broncos on game day, and Claypool is poised for another productive outing Week 6, this time in front of a national audience in primetime against the shaky Seahawks secondary.
