GAME LOG

INJURIES

Tallies 52 receiving yards Claypool hauled in two of three targets for 52 yards while rushing once for two yards in Sunday's 20-19 win over the Ravens.
Impact Claypool drew a season-low three targets in Sunday's matchup, but he had a 40-yard reception early in the fourth quarter, which was the longest play of the game by either team. The 23-year-old hasn't had the same volume that Diontae Johnson has generated this season, but he's logged at least 40 yards from scrimmage in each of his last five appearances. During that time, he's secured 17 of 30 targets for 302 yards while rushing seven times for 32 yards. He'll have a very favorable matchup against the Vikings in Week 14.

Steelers turn away Ravens 20-19 after failed 2-point attempt

Practices fully Claypool (toe) returned to a full practice Thursday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Impact As did QB Ben Roethlisberger (pectoral/right shoulder), which sets the stage for the duo to suit up Sunday against the Ravens. After being inactive in Week 10 due to the toe issue he's still managing, Claypool has logged 91 and 98 percent of the Steelers' offensive snaps over the past two weeks en route to hauling in eight of his 17 targets for 175 yards in that span. As long as he can stay healthy, Claypool is destined to see a steady flow of wideout looks alongside fellow starter Diontae Johnson.

Listed with toe injury again Claypool (toe) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday.
Impact Claypool is back on the injury report after a one-week respite, though he's handled full workloads in consecutive games after missing Week 10 with the toe injury. The second-year pro played 91 and 98 percent of offensive snaps the past two weeks, catching eight of 17 targets for 175 yards. Claypool should be able to suit up this Sunday against the Ravens.

Bengals confident after pounding AFC North rival Steelers

The Cincinnati Bengals have shown they have a potent offense, but it was the run game that has powered them in the two games since the bye week
NOVEMBER 29, 2021 • Associated Press
82 yards in blowout loss Claypool had three receptions (eight targets) for 82 yards in Sunday's 41-10 loss to Cincinnati.
Impact Claypool's production hovered right around his season averages heading into Sunday's contest (4.3 receptions, 65.8 yards and 7.6 targets), but he set a new season high with a 27.3 yards per catch average. The 22-year-old is currently on pace to surpass his rookie total of 873 yards with 608 receiving yards through nine starts, but his lack of touchdowns (one) continues to depress his fantasy potential. Claypool's next chance to hit pay dirt will come against the Ravens next Sunday.

Steelers hope offensive outburst is a sign of things to come

Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is encouraged by his team's offensive outburst in a loss to the Chargers
NOVEMBER 24, 2021 • Associated Press
93 yards in SNF loss Claypool had five receptions (nine targets) for 93 yards in Sunday's 41-37 loss to the Chargers.
Impact Claypool finished second in targets behind fellow starter Diontae Johnson, but he did not end up on the receiving end of any of Ben Roethlisberger's three touchdown passes. The second-year wideout has just one touchdown in nine appearances following his impressive 11-score rookie campaign. The rest of Claypool's production is on pace with his 2020 season, so it's just the lack of trips to the end zone that is weakening his fantasy stock. His next chance to hit pay dirt will come against the Bengals in Week 12.

Good to go Week 11 Claypool (toe) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Chargers, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Impact Claypool cleared up any concern about his ability to return this weekend from a one-game absence by practicing fully Friday. With Claypool back in the fold, Ray-Ray McCloud is the most likely candidate to see a downsized role after playing a season-high 69 percent of the snaps in last week's 16-16 tie with the Lions. Expect Claypool, Diontae Johnson and James Washington to compose most of the Steelers' three-receiver sets in Los Angeles.

Remains limited in practice Claypool (toe) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
Impact Coming off a Week 10 absence, Claypool has now turned in a pair of limited practices to kick off Week 11 prep. While his presence on the field on consecutive days is a positive sign, Claypool will likely need to upgrade to full activity during Friday's practice in order to avoid carrying a questionable tag into Sunday's game against the Chargers.

Limited in return to practice Claypool (toe) was a limited participant Wednesday in his return to practice, Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Impact Claypool is hoping to make it back for Sunday's road game against the Chargers after missing the 16-16 tie with Detroit on Sunday. For fantasy managers, it ended up being the right game to miss, as Pittsburgh's offense struggled with backup QB Mason Rudolph limited by bad weather in addition to his own shortcomings as a passer. It's not yet clear if Claypool and/or Ben Roethlisberger (reserve/COVID-19) will be available for Sunday's matchup between AFC playoff hopefuls.

NOVEMBER 16, 2021 • Associated Press
In line to practice Wednesday Coach Mike Tomlin said Claypool (toe) is expected to participate in practice Wednesday, Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Impact Claypool suffered a toe injury during the Steelers' Week 9 win against the Bears, which didn't allow him to practice last week and kept him on the sideline during this past Sunday's tie with the Lions. Fortunately for the second-year wide receiver, he avoided a season-ending injury via MRI, and he now may miss as little as just one contest as a result. In the end, though, Claypool's progression through Week 11 prep will be key to his availability for Sunday's road game against the Chargers.
