Impact Despite his team-high eight rushes, Huntley didn't have much success during the preseason opener. The undrafted free agent out of Ball State signed a futures deal with Atlanta in January, but he'll have a difficult time making the 53-man roster, especially if converted running back Avery Williams continues to turn heads during training camp.

Impact Huntley was signed by the Falcons as an undrafted free agent out of Ball State in 2021. He spent several weeks on the practice squad IR with an undisclosed injury and never saw the active roster.

Impact Huntley saw some preseason action for the Falcons before landing on the injured list, but it's unclear if he will be in consideration to be elevated to the active roster moving forward. The rookie out of Ball State ran for over 1,000 yards twice during his four-year collegiate career.

Impact Huntley was waived as Atlanta worked to cut down to the initial 53-man roster, but after going unclaimed it makes sense for him to return via the practice squad. The undrafted rookie out of Ball State had a solid preseason, and the Falcons have questionable running back depth behind starter Mike Davis. D'Onta Foreman also signed to the practice squad after clearing waivers.

Impact Huntley put forth a strong preseason, so he could be a candidate to rejoin Atlanta's practice squad if he goes unclaimed on waivers. On the initial 53-man roster, at least, Qadree Ollison and Cordarrelle Patterson will operate as reserve options behind Mike Davis.

First back off bench Huntley was the first running back to relieve starter Mike Davis on Sunday, rushing eight times for 16 yards in a 19-10 preseason loss to the Browns.

Impact Huntley was lower on the depth chart earlier this preseason, even entering behind fellow backup Qadree Ollison last week against the Dolphins, so this shuffle in order could hint at what the depth chart will look like come Week 1. Neither back set the world on fire in this one, so the final decision from head coach Arthur Smith may not be final quite yet. For now, Huntley took a slight lead in the battle for the backup job behind Mike Davis heading into the Falcons' first contest against the Eagles on Sept. 12.

Impact Huntley followed Qadree Ollison onto the field and consistently gained chunks of yardage. His most impressive play came late in the fourth quarter when he found the end zone on a 30-yard rush. The only downside to his performance was a fumble that came just before halftime, though the Falcons did recover. Mike Davis and Cordarrelle Patterson didn't play in Saturday's contest, though Huntley appears to have inserted himself into the conversation for a roster spot with some strong preseason performances.

First back on field Huntley tallied six carries for 18 yards and one reception for 14 yards Friday in the team's first preseason game against Tennessee.

Impact Huntley was the first back on the field as each of Cordarrelle Patterson, Qadree Ollison and Mike Davis did not play. Huntley gained just three yards on two carries on the team's opening drive, but he became more effective as the game went on. Immediately before halftime he had a gain of nine yards and then ripped off a run of eight yards on the team's first possession of the third quarter. A penalty also cancelled out what would have been a 17-yard rush, but Huntley still managed to show some explosiveness throughout the game. Overall, Huntley worked in combination with Javian Hawkins for much of the contest, both of whom are undrafted free agents looking to stick on the back end of Atlanta's roster.
