Impact The division-rival Lions released Perriman a day earlier, opting instead for the likes of Kalif Raymond, Trinity Benson, Tom Kennedy and KhaDarel Hodge to fill out their depth chart at receiver. Being cut by Detroit wasn't a great sign for Perriman's NFL future, but it's worth noting that the Lions are in Year 1 of a rebuild, whereas Bears head coach Matt Nagy is arguably facing a make-or-break season. Perriman could now challenge Marquise Goodwin for the No. 3 receiver spot in Chicago.

Impact Perriman was a free-agent acquisition who seemed destined for a key role with the Lions, but after missing time in training camp with a hip injury and making a limited impact in the preseason, he'll look to catch on elsewhere. With Perriman no longer in the mix, Tyrell Williams, Quintez Cephus, Amon-Ra St. Brown and Kalif Raymond now look poised to lead the team's wideout corps, with the likes of Geronimo Allison, Tom Kennedy, Victor Bolden and Javon McKinley battling for depth slotting.

Impact Perriman actually had three targets but was called for offensive pass interference on a 27-yard gain. Regardless, the 26-year-old at least looked healthy after missing a significant portion of training camp plus the preseason opener due to a hip injury. While his preseason is probably over if we can assume that all of Detroit's starters will be rested during the exhibition finale next Friday against Indianapolis, Perriman seems ready to go for Week 1 of the regular season.

Perriman's lackluster training camp might be of bigger concern than any sort of lingering injury, although considering the 27-year-old's lengthy injury history, any sort of issue -- no matter how small -- is worth noting.

Impact While it's too early in the offseason to come to hard conclusions, Perriman seems no higher than No. 2 on the depth chart entering training camp. A few young receivers on the depth chart below him, namely fourth-round rookie Amon-Ra St. Brown and the second-year Quintez Cephus, seem to be making a push for higher slotting as well. However, at 6-foot-2 with blazing 4.24 speed, Perriman certainly has physical tools that no other wideout on the team, besides Williams, can approach. Should Perriman stay healthy this summer, it would be a surprise if he fell any lower on the depth chart.
