Deni Avdija - Benched in second half
Avdija supplied zero points (0-2 FG) and one rebound across nine minutes during Friday's 117-116 loss to the Hornets.
Impact
Avdija started his 14th straight game Friday but was benched in the second half in favor of Corey Kispert. Avdija had a nice stretch in mid-to-late November as the Wizards dealt with injuries, but he's struggled to be effective when the team's core is healthy. Over his past five appearances, he's shot just 35.5 percent from the field and 15.4 percent from deep. Even in deep leagues, it's becoming difficult to hold onto the forward.

Corey Kispert - Hits four triples
Kispert ended Friday's 117-116 loss to the Hornets with 14 points (5-8 FG, 4-7 3Pt), five rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal across 31 minutes.
Impact
Kispert came off the bench Friday but ended up starting the second half over Deni Avdija, who played just nine minutes. The sophomore marksman is on pace for career highs in points (9.3), assists (1.7), steals (0.7) and threes (1.7) per game, plus field-goal percentage (52.6) and three-point percentage (44.1). He's mostly a streaming option for deeper leagues.

Jordan Goodwin - Low minutes in loss
Goodwin notched three points (1-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt), six rebounds and one assist across 14 minutes during Friday's 117-116 loss to the Hornets.
Impact
Goodwin hit his only shot toward the end of the third quarter and then didn't see the floor at all in the fourth. Coach Steve Clifford went with a bigger lineup and stuck with it as the unit mounted a huge comeback. This is the second straight game that Goodwin saw less than 20 minutes, which might be something to monitor.

Daniel Gafford - Huge game off bench
Gafford racked up 10 points (3-8 FG, 4-10 FT), 12 rebounds, one assist and six blocks in 24 minutes during Friday's 117-116 loss to the Hornets.
Impact
Gafford had one of his best games of the season. Friday night was the most minutes he has seen in almost a month, and, other than his shooting, he put up solid numbers. His 12 boards and six blocks were both season highs, and the 24-year-old center proved once again that he can produce when given the opportunity.

Kristaps Porzingis - Second straight double-double
Porzingis logged 21 points (5-14 FG, 0-6 3Pt, 11-13 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal over 36 minutes during Friday's 117-116 loss to the Hornets.
Impact
Not only did Porzingis hit the 20-point mark in his fourth straight game, but he's also logged double-digit rebounds two games in a row. Though he struggled shooting the ball in the loss, he still managed to fill up the stat sheet. This was the third straight game the 27-year-old center recorded at least one block and one steal in his 30-plus minutes on the floor. As long as he stays healthy, you can count on this kind of production to continue.

Bradley Beal - Leads team in scoring
Beal closed with 33 points (12-24 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 7-8 FT), six rebounds, seven assists and one steal in 40 minutes during Friday's 117-116 loss to the Hornets.
Impact
Other than a couple crucial turnovers toward the end of the game, Beal had a fantastic night helping lead a Washington comeback in the fourth quarter to almost steal the victory. His 33 points led both teams, and his performance marked the sixth time in seven games he has shot at least 50 percent from the field. The three-time NBA All-Star is averaging 24.1 points, 5.7 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 17 games played this season.

Rui Hachimura - Given week-to-week timeline
Hachimura is considered week-to-week due to a bone bruise in his right ankle, Ava Wallace of The Washington Post reports.
Impact
Hachimura has missed seven straight games due to the issue, and coach Wes Unseld's notion that he will be week-to-week is certainly not encouraging. Anthony Gill and Deni Avdija should continue to receive extended run during the duration of Hachimura's absence.
