The veteran big man has averaged 16.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.6 threes in 31.4 minutes while shooting 41.9 percent from beyond the arc across his last eight outings (seven starts). Impact After missing 16 of the last 17 games for the 76ers, Embiid did not appear on the injury report for Philadelphia, making him available to play Friday in Detroit. In his first game back from the extended absence, the one-time NBA MVP recorded a triple-double in Tuesday's win against the Mavericks, finishing with 29 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists and one steal. This is a promising sign for the team, as the superstar big man might be back to form quicker than anticipated.

Haywood Highsmith - Probable to play Friday Highsmith (Achilles) is probable to play in Friday's game against the Nets, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports.
Impact Highsmith has been dealing with this Achilles injury for quite a while now, but it has not hindered him from playing (only two total games missed this season, with his last absence on Oct. 30). With the recent blockbuster trade that sent Jimmy Butler to the Warriors for Andrew Wiggins, who will be taking some time to get settled in Miami, Highsmith will likely remain with the starters for the next game or two.
