    Hamlin won the Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway Sunday afternoon.

    Impact

    Hamlin dominated the afternoon at Kansas Speedway. He led a race-high 153 laps and seemed to have a death-grip on the win. However, some late cautions would bunch the field up, and setup some restarts. Hamlin would have to hold off Chase Elliott on the green-white-checkered finish to claim the win. It was his fifth victory of the season, and the Joe Gibbs Racing star advances into the Round of 8 in the Chase for the Cup.

    Hamlin finished third in the 1000Bulbs.com 500 at Talladega Superspeedway Monday afternoon.

    Impact

    The Joe Gibbs Racing star would find adversity early in this one. The No. 11 Toyota would lose a hood flap early in stage 2. The car would have handling problems as a result. Then on lap 108, Hamlin would get some moderate damage in a multi-car crash. The team would make repairs and get him back in action. Hamlin would battle back onto the lead lap and race among the leaders at the end. He would draft with Ryan Newman on the last lap and nearly push him to the win, and finished third as a result. It was his 16th Top-5 finish of the season.

    Hamlin was fastest in opening practice for the 1000Bulbs.com 500 at Talladega Superspeedway Friday. He turned a fast lap of 204.904 mph.

    Impact

    The Chevrolets paced the practice for most of the session, but the Toyotas would get their act together in the final minutes. Hamlin would work with JGR teammate, Kyle Busch, and the two would shoot to the top of the scoring pylon. The driver of the No. 11 Toyota edged Kevin Harvick for the fastest lap of this opening hour-long session. Hamlin won at Daytona earlier this season, and appears to have that same speed for Sunday's 500-mile race at Talladega.

    Hamlin finished fifth in the Drydene 400 at Dover International Speedway Sunday afternoon.

    Impact

    Hamlin used the pole position and great speed to dominate most of this race. He would lead the first 11 laps from the pole, and then go onto lead 218 total laps for the day. There weren't many who could keep up with the No. 11 Toyota on long runs. Hamlin's machine would come back to the field during stage 3 and he would settle in for the impressive fifth-place finish. it was his 15th Top-5 finish of the season, and Hamlin sits in good points position heading to Talladega next week.

    Hamlin won the pole for the Drydene 400 at Dover International Speedway Saturday afternoon. He turned a fast lap of 166.984 mph.

    Impact

    The Toyotas didn't look very impressive in Dover practice this weekend, but a Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota jumped up and surprised during pole qualifying Saturday. Hamlin turned in an incredible lap, and edged Kyle Larson to claim the top starting spot at the Monster Mile. It was Hamlin's second pole position of the season, fourth at Dover and 32nd of his Cup Series career. The driver of the No. 11 Toyota should challenge the Top 5 Sunday in the Drydene 400.
