Decent in Friday's loss
Henry (2-2) allowed a run on six hits, a walk and a hit batter while striking out seven over 5.1 innings, but he took the loss Friday versus the Cardinals.
Impact
Henry's lone mistake was a solo home run to Paul Goldschmidt in the first inning. He was able to keep the deficit low, but the Cardinals pulled away in the seventh against the Diamondbacks' bullpen. Henry's alternated between good and mediocre through his first four starts. He's pitched to a 3.57 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 17:9 K:BB through 22.2 innings overall. The rookie southpaw is tentatively projected for a road start against the White Sox next week.

Goes 5.1 innings in win
Henry (2-1) earned the win during Sunday's 7-4 victory over Colorado, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks with three strikeouts in 5.1 innings.
Impact
Henry breezed through five frames -- retiring 10 straight Rockies at one point -- before permitting four baserunners and all three runs in the sixth, prompting his removal. The 25-year-old fired 61 of 89 pitches for strikes but induced only four of the swinging variety and has struck out three batters in each of his three turns. Henry has now tallied consecutive wins and possesses a 4.15 ERA and 1.21 WHIP across 17.1 innings.

Earns first win
Henry (1-1) earned the win during Tuesday's 6-4 victory over the Pirates, allowing one run on four hits and two walks with three strikeouts in seven innings.
Impact
It had been reported that Henry had adjusted the grip on his slider and curve and the results paid off -- albeit against weak competition -- as the only damage against the rookie lefty was a Michael Chavis solo shot in the sixth inning. The 25-year-old fired 58 of 88 pitches for strikes with 11 of the swinging variety en route to his first major league win. Henry has surrendered five runs on 14 baserunners with six strikeouts across 11 innings through two starts. He tentatively lines up for another start this week in Colorado on Sunday.

Packing new slider, curve
Henry tweaked the grip on his slider and curveball and plans to use it in Tuesday's start against Pittsburgh, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.
Impact
The change was suggested by pitching coach Brent Strom, who instructed Henry to hold the ball deeper in his hand for both pitches. Strom said he's worked with many pitchers that had good curveballs, including Nolan Ryan, who held the ball farther into their hand. Henry, whose grip on both pitches gradually changed over time without him noticing, responded well to the adjustment during a bullpen session Saturday and will bring it with him Tuesday, his second career MLB start. "It's really about giving myself space to rip down on it and pull down on it," Henry said. The left-hander worked around shaky command in his first major-league start against the Guardians last week, allowing one run through four innings before being done in by a three-run home run in the fifth.

Diamondbacks' Tommy Henry on 'right track' after tweaking slider grip
Diamondbacks rookie Tommy Henry is hoping a change to the way he holds his slider and curveball will yield better results.

Sticking in rotation
Henry is listed as the Diamondbacks' scheduled starting pitcher for Tuesday's home game against the Pirates.
Impact
The rookie southpaw will remain in the rotation after proving serviceable, if unspectacular in his MLB debut last Wednesday in Cleveland, where he tossed five innings and gave up four runs on four hits and three walks while striking out three. The home matchup with the Pirates represents a nice spot for Henry to pick up his first MLB win, but a looming start this weekend at Coors Field could undo any good ratios he provides Tuesday.

Takes loss in debut
Henry (0-1) allowed four earned runs on four hits and three walks while striking out three across five innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Guardians.
Impact
Henry was promoted from Triple-A Reno to make his big-league debut. He worked through shaky command early on but was ultimately undone by a three-run homer off the bat of Amed Rosario in the fifth inning. Given the current state of the Diamondbacks rotation, Henry should have the opportunity to take regular turns as a starter for the foreseeable future. Prior to being promoted, Henry managed a 3.83 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 100:44 K:BB across 108 innings with Reno -- respectable numbers given the offensive environment.

Contract selected prior to start
Henry's contract was selected from Triple-A Reno on Wednesday.
Impact
Henry will make his major-league debut as the starter in Wednesday's game against the Guardians following a strong showing in Reno to begin the year. The southpaw has posted a 3.83 ERA and 1.34 WHIP in 108 innings over 20 starts at the Triple-A level this season and should have a chance to remain in the Diamondbacks' rotation if he performs well early in his big-league career.
