INJURIES

Sharp in Cactus League opener Henry allowed one hit and struck out three over two scoreless innings in Friday's spring start against the Rockies.
Impact Henry, pitching for the first time since a July 30 elbow injury ended his 2023 season, threw 15 of 22 pitches for strikes. He had command of all his pitches and was pleased with the results of mechanical tweaks implemented during the offseason, per Steve Gilbert of MLB.com. The left-hander focused on his hips and making his front side sturdier, designed to achieve consistency with his release point. With Friday's outcome, Henry staked an early claim to the fifth spot in the rotation, which is seen as a competition, along with Ryne Nelson, Slade Cecconi and Bryce Jarvis.

Bullpen consideration for NLCS Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Friday that Henry (elbow) could be a bullpen option in the NLCS against the Phillies, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Impact Henry has been on the shelf since late July due to inflammation in his left elbow, but he resumed throwing off a mound toward the end of the regular season and faced live hitters in Friday's intrasquad game at Chase Field. Prior to the lengthy IL stint, the 26-year-old southpaw held a 4.15 ERA and 64:35 K:BB in 89 innings (16 starts, one relief appearance) with Arizona.
OCTOBER 13, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Throws bullpen session Henry (elbow) threw a 25-pitch bullpen session Friday, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Impact Henry is scheduled to throw another bullpen session Tuesday, but he probably won't be a consideration for the Diamondbacks' postseason roster unless they make a deep run. The 26-year-old left-hander has been on the injured list since late July because of elbow inflammation.

Still not throwing Manager Torey Lovullo said Wednesday that Henry (elbow) still has not started his throwing program and he may be "past the point of no return," Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com rep...
Impact Lovullo said last week that there was a chance Henry returns in a bullpen role before the end of the season, but his chances appear to be fading. If Henry isn't able to begin his throwing program within the next few days, it's certainly possible the D-backs shift their focus to getting Henry ready for the start of spring training next year.
AUGUST 31, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Could still pitch in 2023 Manager Torey Lovullo believes Henry (elbow) could return in time for the end of the 2023 season, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports.
Impact Lovullo goes on to state that it would be nearly impossible to ramp Henry back up to a starting role, but if he's activated in time, the southpaw could be utilized out of the bullpen. Henry was shifted to the 60-day injured list Saturday, meaning he won't be eligible for a return until Sept. 29.
AUGUST 21, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Shifted to 60-day IL Henry (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Saturday.
Impact Henry has been on the 15-day IL since July 30 and he will now be ineligible to return until the Diamondbacks' final series of the regular season versus Houston in late September. The move created a spot on the 40-man roster for Nabil Crismatt, who had his contract selected from Triple-A Reno on Saturday.

D-Backs put LPH Tommy Henry on IL, reinstate RHP Cole Sulser The Arizona Diamondbacks placed left-handed Tommy Henry on the 15-day injured list Sunday with left elbow inflammation.
JULY 30, 2023 • STAR-TELEGRAM.COM
Moved to IL with inflamed elbow The Diamondbacks placed Henry on the 15-day injured list Sunday with left elbow inflammation.
Impact With a 4.15 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 7.6 K-BB% over 89 innings this season, Henry was already miscast as a mid-rotation starter for the pitching-starved Diamondbacks, but his move to the IL is a huge loss nonetheless. Per Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com, manager Torey Lovullo said Henry won't require surgery after an MRI ruled out any structural damage to his elbow, but the southpaw will still be barred from throwing for about a week before Arizona outlines a more precise timeline for his return. Henry seems likely to spend more than the minimum 15 days on the shelf.

Struggles early in loss Henry (5-4) allowed four runs on six hits and a walk while striking out six over six innings, taking the loss Friday versus the Mariners.
Impact Henry gave up all four runs and five of the seven baserunners during an ugly first inning. He was able to settle down from there, but the damage was already done, sending the southpaw to his third straight loss. In that span, he's given up 11 runs (10 earned) over 14.2 innings following a three-start stretch in which he allowed just two runs across 18.1 frames. For the season, Henry owns a 4.15 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 64:35 K:BB through 89 innings across 17 appearances (16 starts). He's lined up for a road start in San Francisco next week.

Impact Some shaky defense by Geraldo Perdomo did him no favors, but Henry created plenty of problems for himself as he tossed only 47 of 88 pitches for strikes before getting the hook. The southpaw has issued four free passes in two of his last three outings, and since the beginning of June he's posted a 4.29 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 33:18 K:BB through 42 innings. Henry will look for a better result in his next start, likely to come at home next week against the Cardinals.
JULY 22, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Takes rare loss Henry (5-2) took the loss Sunday, allowing three runs on seven hits and one walk over 4.1 innings against the Blue Jays. He struck out five.
Impact After going at least 5.2 innings in each of his last four starts, Henry was pulled after 4.1 innings (81 pitches) Sunday. He struggled with the Blue Jays' talented lineup, allowing more hits (7) Sunday than he had given up in his last two starts combined (6). The loss was Henry's second of the season and his first since May 11 (10 starts). Henry's taken significant steps forward in his second MLB season, owning a 3.89 ERA and 1.35 WHIP, but he still has room for improvement with strikeouts (6.4 K/9) and limiting power (1.4 HR/9).
JULY 17, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Walks four in solid start Henry allowed two hits and four walks while striking out two over six scoreless innings in a no-decision versus the Mets on Wednesday.
Impact Henry didn't have the sharpest command, but he was able to limit the damage quite well in his third scoreless outing of the campaign. He's rounding into form with just four runs allowed over 24.1 innings across his last four starts. He'll conclude the first half with a 3.75 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 51:29 K:BB through 74.1 innings across 14 appearances (13 starts), emerging as a solid mid-rotation option for Arizona.

Henry notches fifth win Henry (5-1) earned the win Friday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks over 5.2 innings against the Angels. He struck out eight.
Impact Henry set a new season-high for strikeouts in a game, and now has only four earned run allowed over his last three starts. The southpaw has rebounded nicely after allowing 10 runs across nine innings pitched to begin the month of June. His next start is tentatively scheduled to be at home against the Mets on Thursday.

Picks up fourth win Henry (4-1) earned the win Thursday in Washington after he gave up one run on seven hits and one walk over 6.2 innings. He struck out five.
Impact The left-hander surrendered a solo homer to Lane Thomas during the third inning but otherwise kept the Nationals off the board to notch his fifth quality start of the year. Henry has taken advantage of favorable matchups against Cleveland and Washington in his past two starts with just three runs allowed across 13 frames, but he lines up for a tougher test next week versus Tampa Bay.
JUNE 22, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Solid in no-decision Henry allowed two runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three over six innings in a no-decision versus the Guardians on Saturday.
Impact Henry had given up five runs in each of his last two starts before this quality start. Andres Gimenez had a solo home run and a bases-loaded walk to account for the runs on Henry's line. While he went a third straight outing without a win, the southpaw trimmed his ERA to 4.66 with a 1.39 WHIP and 36:22 K:BB over 56 innings across 11 appearances (10 starts). Henry's lined up for a road start in Washington next week.
JUNE 18, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Turns in another forgettable outing Henry did not factor into the decision Monday, allowing five runs on nine hits and one walk over 4.2 innings against the Phillies. He struck out six.
Impact Henry has now allowed five runs in each of his last two starts, without completing five innings in either one of them. The southpaw showed flashes of greatness in his seven-inning scoreless performance on May 31 against the Rockies, but he hasn't been able to consistently put it all together this year. The second-year player currently sports an unimpressive 4.86 ERA and 1.38 ERA.
JUNE 13, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Hit hard by Nationals Henry did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing five runs on five hits and three walks over 4.1 innings in a 10-5 victory over Washington. He struck out two.
Impact Henry allowed a season-high five runs Tuesday, giving up four in just one swing of the bat as Stone Garrett swatted a grand slam in the first inning. He also tied his shortest start of the campaign after getting pulled in the fifth at 81 pitches. The 24-year-old has been excellent at Chase Field, sporting a 2.49 ERA across 25.1 innings compared to a 6.75 ERA over 20 innings on the road. However, he is tentatively scheduled to make his next start against the Tigers in Detroit.
JUNE 7, 2023 • ROTOWIRE
Dominates Rockies in win Henry (3-1) hurled seven scoreless innings in a win over the Rockies on Wednesday while allowing just two hits and walking two. He struck out seven.
Impact Henry put together the best start of his young MLB career Wednesday evening. It was just the second time in 16 career starts he's managed to go seven innings and he also tied his career-high with seven strikeouts. The 25-year-old has notoriously struggled with his control, but he credited his command after the game as a big reason for his successful outing. Wednesday was also his first start without giving up a home run since May 6. Henry now sits at a 3.73 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 25:16 K:BB over 41 innings and lines up for a favorable start against the Nationals next week.

Back in win column Henry (2-1) allowed two runs on four hits and two walks over 5.2 innings Monday, striking out five and earning a win over Philadelphia.
Impact Henry rolled through three scoreless innings with little pushback from the Phillies. He then served up solo homers to Kyle Schwarber and Bryston Stott in the fourth. After allowing two home runs through 22.1 innings to begin the year, Henry has allowed four over his last two starts. He lowered his ERA to 4.68 while picking up his first win since April 29. Henry's lined up for a home outing against Boston this weekend.
