Nathan Eovaldi - Blows lead, takes loss Tuesday Eovaldi (11-10) took the loss and was charged with his first blown save after allowing three runs on three hits and a walk over one inning in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Mets.
Impact Eovaldi entered to begin the sixth with Texas protecting a 3-2 lead but couldn't hold the advantage. Brett Baty doubled and Marcus Semien reached before Francisco Alvarez delivered a two-run double to put New York ahead 4-3. Luis Torrens followed with a sacrifice fly that brought Alvarez home and completed the three-run inning. Eovaldi needed 29 pitches to record three outs, and this rough appearance increased his ERA to 4.27. This was the first time Eovaldi allowed more than one earned run since the end of July, and he should continue to pitch in relief down the stretch.

MacKenzie Gore - Allows one earned run Gore didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against the Mets after allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and one walk while striking out two over five innings.
Impact Gore fell one out shy of a quality start, but this abbreviated outing was still a step in the right direction since he had given up at least three runs while pitching four or fewer innings in each of his previous three outings. Gore has an elevated 5.91 ERA since the start of September.

Impact Helman has not seen game action since June 13, after suffering multiple fractures in his right hand. Before being sidelined, the 30-year-old recorded just 35 plate appearances, slashing .167/.235/.300 with one homer and two RBI. The Rangers transferred Cal Quantrill (lat) to the 60-day IL, clearing a spot for Helman on the active and 40-man rosters.

Impact Quantrill will not pitch again this season after being transferred to the 60-day IL Tuesday. The right-hander posted a 2.86 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 81:25 K:BB across 110 innings this season. Texas activated Michael Helman (hand) from the 60-day IL, replacing Quantrill on both the active and 40-man rosters.

Joc Pederson - Heading to injured list Texas placed Pederson (hand) on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, retroactive to Sept. 19.
Impact The veteran left-handed-hitting Pederson will head to the 10-day IL, effectively ending to his season. Pederson has not played since Sept. 12 because of soreness in his fractured left hand. The 34-year-old will end his 2026 campaign holding a slash line of .235/.329/.487 with 26 homers and 53 RBI over 431 plate appearances.

Impact According to Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com, the veteran slugger hit off a tee Tuesday afternoon and is scheduled to do so again pregame. Pederson continues to deal with soreness in his fractured left hand and has some more hurdles to clear before returning to game action. He likely would have been on the bench Tuesday regardless of the injury since lefty Sean Manaea is starting for New York.

Adam Macko - Demoted to minors The Rangers optioned Macko to the club's Arizona Complex League affiliate Tuesday.
Impact The left-hander was called up by Texas over the weekend and will return to the minors after firing 2.1 scoreless frames Sunday against the Blue Jays. Macko won't be eligible to be recalled by the Rangers before the end of the regular season unless the corresponding transaction is injury related.

Impact Gray has been shelved for all of September with right elbow inflammation, but he'll go back directly onto the active roster without having made a rehab appearance. The rookie reliever has pitched well out of the Texas bullpen this season, logging a 3.93 ERA and 58:16 K:BB over 55 innings.
