Out of Thursday's lineup
Duran isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Pirates.
Impact
Duran is expected to receive the bulk of starts in left field while Wyatt Langford (forearm) is on the shelf, but the Rangers will keep Duran on the bench Thursday and start Alejandro Osuna in left.

Nursing sore ankle
Leiter is dealing with right ankle soreness as a result of a fall during Wednesday's start versus the Pirates, but he expects to be ready for his next scheduled outing Monday again...
Impact
Leiter tripped over a weighted bat in the on-deck circle and fell to the ground in the fifth inning. He stayed in to finish the frame and has managed to avoid a serious injury. It seems at this time Leiter is not in danger of missing his next start, but the Rangers will likely wait until this weekend before officially clearing him to take the ball versus the Yankees.

Ready for rehab assignment
Baumler (intercostal) has been sent to Triple-A Round Rock to begin a rehab assignment.
Impact
Baumler has been shelved since early April with a right intercostal strain. The Rule 5 pick seems likely to make multiple rehab appearances before rejoining the Rangers' bullpen around the beginning of May.

Gets first MLB promotion
The Rangers selected Gray's contract from Triple-A Round Rock on Thursday.
Impact
It's a great story, as Gray receives his first major-league promotion a few weeks shy of his 31st birthday. The righty reliever earned the call-up by tossing 12.2 scoreless frames with a 15:2 K:BB at Round Rock. Gray figures to be used in low-leverage spots initially, but he could work his way up the pecking order as part of an unsettled Rangers bullpen.

DFA'd by Rangers
The Rangers designated MacIver for assignment Thursday.
Impact
MacIver has spent the entire season at Triple-A Round Rock, slashing .170/.333/.255 with a home run, six RBI and six runs scored through 60 plate appearances. He'll end up as the roster casualty necessary to make room on the 40-man for Peyton Gray, whose contract was selected from Round Rock on Thursday.

Shelved by shoulder inflammation
The Rangers placed Garcia on the 15-day injured list Thursday with left shoulder inflammation.
Impact
Garcia hasn't pitched in a week due to the injury, and the Rangers finally decided to put him on the IL. The reliever will be eligible to return May 5, though it's unclear whether the Rangers expect him to be ready by that time. Jakob Junis has been serving as the Rangers' primary closer this season, and that should continue while Garcia is sidelined.

Fans five in five innings
Leiter didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Pirates, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits and two walks across five innings. He struck out five.
Impact
Leiter tossed 57 of his 84 pitches for strikes, and while he didn't factor into the decision, this was far from his best outing. The right-hander has been struggling of late, and this was his third consecutive start in which he allowed at least three earned runs while failing to pitch six complete innings. He hasn't earned a quality start since his first start of the season, when he tossed six innings of two-run ball against the Orioles on March 30. Leiter, who has seen his ERA increase all the way up to 4.97, is scheduled to make his next start at home against the Yankees next week.

Remains in left field
Duran started in left field and went 0-for-3 in Wednesday's 8-4 loss to the Pirates.
Impact
Duran, who replaced an injured Wyatt Langford (forearm) during Tuesday's game, stayed in the lineup after the Rangers placed Langford on the injured list Wednesday. Duran has been a nice source of production -- he entered Wednesday batting .298 with one home run, eight RBI and three steals in 47 at-bats -- and should receive the bulk of the starts in left field while Langford is shelved.

Tagged with loss
Winn (0-1) was credited with the loss to Pittsburgh on Wednesday, when he allowed three runs on two hits while striking out one over a third of an inning.
Impact
Winn entered the ninth inning of a 4-4 game and gave up hits to the first two batters before allowing a run on a fielder's choice. The rest of the damage came after he was removed, as Jalen Beeks surrendered a three-run shot to O'Neil Cruz. Winn is part of the Rangers' late-game crew but has recently hit a rough patch; he's allowed three runs in two of his last four outings. What was a scoreless 7.2 innings to start the season has given way to a 16.20 ERA over 3.1 subsequent frames.

Extends RBI streak in loss
Jung went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Wednesday's 8-4 loss to the Pirates.
Impact
Jung gave Texas an early lead with a two-run homer in the second inning, his third of the season. The homer also extended an RBI streak to six contests, during which the third baseman is 11-for-24 (.458) with eight extra-base hits and eight RBI. He's turned around a slow start to the season but maintaining that level of production over longer stretches has been elusive for Jung the last two years.
