Outrighted to Triple-A
Church cleared waivers Wednesday and was sent outright to Triple-A Round Rock.
Impact
Church was kicked off the 40-man roster last week after giving up two earned runs over 4.2 innings with the big club, but he will remain in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 25-year-old righty is likely to spend most of his time this year at Triple-A, where he's allowed four earned runs on nine hits and four walks in just 4.2 frames.

Promotion official
The Rangers recalled Osuna from Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday.
Impact
With Wyatt Langford (forearm) landing on the injured list, Osuna will rejoin the Rangers to provide depth in the outfield. The 23-year-old slashed .212/.313/.278 across 176 plate appearances in the big leagues last season but is off to a better start in the minors this year, posting a .709 OPS through 17 games.

Officially moves to IL
The Rangers placed Langford (forearm) on the 10-day injured list Wednesday.
Impact
Langford was diagnosed with a Grade 1 flexor strain following his removal from Tuesday's game against Pittsburgh. Although his injury is severe enough to send him to the IL, the 24-year-old outfielder said he believes he will be able to return from the injured list when eligible May 2. Until then, Ezequiel Duran seems to be ticketed for regular starts in left field, and Alejandro Osuna will come up from Triple-A Round Rock to fill the open roster spot.

Jansen is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.
Impact
Jansen will get a routine day off after handling catching duties in the Rangers' previous two contests. Kyle Higashioka will draw the start behind the plate Wednesday.

Call-up awaits
The Rangers are expected to recall Osuna from Triple-A Round Rock in the near future with Wyatt Langford (forearm) bound for the injured list, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Impact
Osuna may not arrive in time for Wednesday's game against the Pirates, so the Rangers could wait until Thursday's series finale before placing Langford on the IL and making Osuna's call-up official. The 23-year-old Osuna bats from the left side and is capable of playing all three outfield spots, but it's unclear if the Rangers intend to use him on the strong side of a platoon or strictly as a backup. Ezequiel Duran will receive the starting nod at Langford's usual spot in left field Wednesday and has gotten off to a nice start at the dish this season, posting an .800 OPS over 51 plate appearances. Osuna, meanwhile, has been a so-so performer in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League with a .262/.355/.354 slash line to go with one home run and four steals over 77 plate appearances with Round Rock.

Ticketed for IL
Langford said Wednesday that he's been diagnosed with a Grade 1 flexor strain following an MRI and expects to be placed on the injured list, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Impact
The transaction may not be made official prior to Wednesday's game against the Pirates, but Langford will need to miss time after injuring the right forearm when he felt it tighten up on a swing during Tuesday's 5-1 win. For his part, Langford doesn't believe the injury is too serious, and he's optimistic that he'll be able to return from the IL when first eligible May 2. Ezequiel Duran will draw the start in left field Wednesday, and he and Alejandro Osuna -- who is expected to be recalled from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move -- could end up sharing the position while Langford is on the shelf.

Out Wednesday, awaits MRI results
Langford (forearm) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates.
Impact
Unsurprisingly, Langford will receive the night off after he was removed from Tuesday's 5-1 win in the fourth inning due to right forearm tightness, which he felt on a swing. According to ESPN.com, Langford said he had an MRI scheduled for Wednesday, but the results of those tests haven't yet been publicized. Ezequiel Duran will draw the start in left field Wednesday and could end up serving as the primary replacement for Langford if the latter requires a stint on the injured list.

Average climbing
Pederson went 1-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Tuesday's 5-1 win over Pittsburgh.
Impact
Pederson, who opened the season hitless over his first 16 at-bats, has seen his average slowly climb since. He's hit safely in 10 of the next 15 games, going 12-for-37 (.324) to raise his season average to .235. Despite the hitting surge, it hasn't improved Pederson's run production. He has just two extra-base hits and three RBI over 21 games.

Dropped in order
Smith batted ninth and went 1-for-2 with a walk, a double, an RBI and a run scored in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Pirates.
Impact
Smith has always hit out of the lower half of the order, but Tuesday was the first time at the very end of the order. He's earned that low spot in the order. Smith entered the contest slashing .185/.284/.200 with one extra-base hit and five RBI over 74 plate appearances.

Makes defensive impact Tuesday
Carter went 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI single during Texas' 5-1 win over Pittsburgh on Tuesday.
Impact
Carter put the Rangers on the board with an RBI single to right field. However, his biggest impact in Tuesday's game came in the fifth, when he scaled the fence in center field to rob Oneil Cruz of a three-run home run, which would have given the Pirates a 5-2 lead. Carter has logged one RBI in each of his last three games but has struggled at the plate this season, slashing .197/.333/.348 with three steals, two home runs, seven RBI and a 14:18 BB:K in 83 plate appearances.

Earns win, quality start Tuesday
Rocker (1-1) earned the win against the Pirates on Tuesday, allowing one run on four hits and one walk while striking out five across six innings.
Impact
Rocker gave up an RBI single to Ryan O'Hearn in the first inning, but that was the only run that the former gave up in Tuesday's outing as he kept the Pirates' bats in check by inducing 11 ground balls. It was both Rocker's first win and quality start since July 19 against the Tigers. He has yielded three runs or less in each of his four starts this season for a 3.48 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 19:8 K:BB across 20.2 innings. Rocker is slated to start this weekend at home against the Athletics.

Fills in for Langford
Duran went 1-for-2 with an RBI double and a run scored during the Rangers' 5-1 win over the Pirates on Tuesday.
Impact
Duran was not in the Rangers' starting lineup, but he was in left field for the top of the fifth inning after Wyatt Langford exited the game due to right forearm tightness. Duran contributed immediately in the fifth inning with a double that brought Josh Smith home before the former scored on a Corey Seager RBI single. Duran could see some some starts in left field if Langford were to miss time.

Removed with forearm injury
Langford was removed from Tuesday's game against the Pirates with right forearm tightness, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Impact
Langford went 0-for-1 with a walk before his forearm forced him out of the game in the fifth inning. The severity of his injury remains unknown, but the Rangers will likely provide more details once they get a closer look at the young outfielder. Ezequiel Duran is the top candidate for starts in left field if Langford has to miss time.

Facing hitters
Baumler (ribs) began throwing live batting practice Monday, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Impact
Baumlber has been on the injured list since April 5 due to a right intercostal strain, but he appears to be nearing the final stretch of his recovery. The Rangers haven't announced a firm timeline for his return, but they have confirmed he will require a few rehab outings in the minors before returning from the IL.

Nearing return to throwing
Bradford (elbow) hasn't thrown for two weeks due to tightness in his elbow, but the Rangers believe he will soon resume a throwing program, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.
Impact
Bradford underwent an internal brace procedure on his left elbow last June and made a rehab start earlier this month. However, the left-hander experienced a setback with the elbow, and Texas shut him down for at least a couple weeks. Bradford is on the 60-day injured list and won't return anytime before late May.
