Ramón Laureano - Suffers fractured finger Laureano was diagnosed with a fractured finger after his removal from Wednesday's game against the Brewers, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports.
Impact Manager Mike Shildt added that Laureano's injury will keep him sidelined through at least the NL Wild Card Series, and he could remain out if the Padres are able to advance further. The 31-year-old outfielder will finish his best regular-season campaign since 2019 with a .281/.342/.512 slash line to go with 24 homers, 76 RBI, 72 runs scored and seven stolen bases across 441 plate appearances between Baltimore and San Diego.

Dylan Cease - Strikes out eight in no-decision Cease allowed a run on six hits and two walks across five innings in a no-decision Wednesday against the Brewers. He struck out eight.
Impact It was a strong performance from Cease, who held Milwaukee scoreless until Andrew Vaughn's two-out, RBI double in the fifth. Still, Cease only made it through five innings after throwing 100 pitches -- the right-hander only has one quality start in his last eight outings. Cease figures to finish the regular season at 8-12 with a subpar 4.55 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 215 strikeouts across 32 starts (168 innings).

Luis Arraez - Pops rare homer in win Arraez went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, an additional run scored and a walk in Tuesday's victory over the Brewers.
Impact Arraez turned on a Bruce Zimmermann cutter in the second inning, curling it off the right-field foul pole for a two-run shot, his eighth homer of the season. It's been a down year overall, with career lows in batting average (.288) and OPS (.711) across 151 games, but the infielder may be heating up at the right time, riding a 12-game hitting streak with an .801 OPS during that span.

Ryan O'Hearn - Blasts grand slam O'Hearn went 2-for-4 with a grand slam in Tuesday's victory over the Brewers.
Impact O'Hearn electrified the crowd Tuesday with a first-inning grand slam off Bruce Zimmerman to put the Padres on top early. After a rough start to September, the slugger has locked back in, going 10-for-20 with eight RBI and a pair of extra-base hits across his past five games. While his post-deadline production has dipped to a .711 OPS since leaving the Orioles, O'Hearn's overall season has been strong, with a .276/.362/.435 line, 20 doubles, 17 homers and 62 RBI across 140 games.

Randy Vásquez - Shines in seven shutout frames Vasquez (6-7) earned the win Tuesday, allowing a hit and two walks over seven scoreless innings against the Brewers. He struck out three.
Impact Vasquez handled the Brewers well Tuesday, keeping them off the bases entirely from the fourth inning onward. The right-hander has been sharp in September, posting a 2.53 ERA and 0.94 WHIP over 21.1 innings in four starts. His peripherals (4.88 FIP) aren't pretty, but the 26-year-old has delivered results in 2025, carrying a 3.73 ERA and 1.31 WHIP across 27 outings and 132.2 innings for the Padres.
